Pens/Caps

If the caps really want to rebuild, how about:

Niskanen
Dumoulin
Maatta
Blueger (our highest ranked C prospect; 7.5 D rating) OR Jeffrey

for

Green

Reasoning?

I think I am generally hating on Green less than most people, but is there any specific reason you want him?

We have the cap space this season and want to win it all. Then we can trade Martin after the season.

Green is likley better than any of those will ever get, and we are really long on D. I would love to use one or two to get an upgrade there.

Absolutely not from the Penguins. Horrid value.

I don't think you've watched any games this year...

We have so many offensive Dmen and while chances are (admittedly) that neither Maatta nor Dumoulin will ever be Green at his best, what are you considering so great about him right now? I am fine with Niskanen, Green`s point shot is slightly better, but currently that is about it.

If I we´re trolling down teams for a PPQB, maybe see just how low you can buy on Goligoski instead?

Green could really generate some offense for us and take a lot of pressure and minutes from Letang. I really don't like to see him log 25+ min every game. But my offer could be to good, since Green makes 6M (for two more years).

I know Martin really playes a great season but he's not getting any younger (while I agree that age is not a big factor, yet) and I think that Green could take over Letangs offensive duties and Letang could log Martin's minutes.

Sell high, buy low..

No thanks. I'd rather the team stuck with their D than gut it's future for Mike Green.

Well, I guess it wasn`t obvious that this was you trying to by low.

I've always seen Green as their francise D-man, so I wasn't sure if they would really sell him. If Green is at full health, he can be a really effective player.

Maybe at the deadline if we are out of the playoffs.

Green has been our best defenseman this year and Green is much better than Niskanen.

The core of the caps is around Mike Green's age and I don't think we should be getting a lot of prospects while Ovechkin,Backstrom,Green,Carlson,Alzner are in their primes.

Someone must be either drinking or on drugs tonight. Why on earth would the Pens do this? Too much, way too much for a fragile defenseman. This is bad asset management in the worst way.

Turn in your fan card by the end of the weekend.

If Green will ride his Vespa around the ice during intermissions while fans are allowed to throw various objects at him, then you could be onto something.

Green plays D about as well as Tangradi has put the puck in the net at the NHL level. So Hell No.

I get that some of you are high off the big win tonight. If Green is moved there will be a war and you wont like the price.

That said...we all saw how that defense in Pittsburgh went in the playoffs last year and its not improved. That caps team hasnt hit four goals yet this year.

Green would be better than ever in that lineup. Pittsburgh plays a style perfectly suited for him. Letang gets a little banged up now and then too and Green would be great insurance.

It would be like the Hossa trade. Price is high, but if the pens are all in it could be worth it. Also depends if the gm feels a potential logjam of prospects which to be honest I could see. The core is very young still.

This will sum up this "gem" of a proposal nicely...
