Is the away record any better?

They got two and apparently felt it was enough, as their foot didn't even think about the gas pedal from the start of the 3rd until the goal was scored.

It's always a gamble, trying to cruise and save energy for later games. Just probability that A) a penalty was taken B) it was called and C) Florida scored on it.

I guess my point is they were clearly following a script and the numbers indicate they should have won. But chance is a factor. At least they didn't lose both points in the bargain.

Looks like 13-19 on the road if my math is correct.

23-42 all-time.

What's even worse is 4-18 against division opponents.

Well quite obviously. He doesn't have the quality linemates he had last year, that's one reason for his lack of production.

But if you honestly can't say that he isn't making plays at the same level and isnt gunning as hard as we used to see him then idk that were watching the same thing. I mean, has Giroux even hit anybody yet this season?

Where's the guy who destroyed semin on the boards with a hip check? Where's the guy who shot the puck off of the corner to himself and roofed on the rebound? What about the guy who deked out Chara and Thomas on the same play and ruined the bruins banner ceremony? Or the guy who poked letang at the blue line and make MAF look like an idiot?

If anything, I think he's slightly out of shape. I've still seen him make some great setups that he hasn't been rewarded for. This team desperately needs Hartnell and Simmonds back, although a big reason for Hartnell's great season last year was him being in the best shape of his life.

Yes, in terms of wins tied with Carolina who has less losses. New Jersey is first, Pittsburgh is 2nd.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/shootoutstats...amCareerTotals

From what I can tell, in terms of percentages, since the link above doesn't have that figure (quick math, could be in error):

1. Colorado .648
2. New Jersey .643
3. Pittsburgh .634

27. Ottawa .387
28. Calgary .382
29. Florida .360
30. Philly .354

The four division opponents are ranked 2, 3, 5 and 6 in winning percentages in shootouts.

There's definitely something wrong with #28. What I've seen so far is a lack of magic and an influx of dumb-dumb plays. If he's hurt, he needs to say so; if he's healthy, he needs watch a game or two. Everyone else seems like they've got their legs under them now. Giroux is not playing anywhere near his potential.

I don't know how anyone can see Giroux has an attitude problem or isn't trying. It's painfully obvious to me that he's trying too hard and is over-thinking. His game is never at it's best, nor is anyone's, when he overthinks. He's trying too hard, he takes the C way too seriously and is trying to carry the team. When you TRY to carry a team you fail, you have to just do it.

I'm just glad our GDT title isn't "Draft Lottery Riggers vs. Draft Lottery Losers". I kinda feel bad for the Caps...
