If the Caps got the first overall, they have to take MacKinnon. The offense is atrocious, we don't have enough skill, speed or daring to be effective and it sounds like MacKinnon is all of the above. We need cheap effective offensive talent and with Kuznetsov and Forsberg coming in, that's a ton of potential offense under long-term cap control that we just cannot pass up. It sets up the potential for having as many as three effective scoring lines and the potential to swing trades should the inevitable cap crunch come down on us in a few years.

Has to be MacKinnon if they land the first but I man crush on Drouin though likely wouldn't help the NHL roster as fast.

I like Jones, but if you have the 1st overall it's MacKinnon. Safer pick. Kind of like Luck vs. RG3.

Only concern Drouin is how tiny he is. He could be another Martin St Louis...but he could also be another Matthew Perreault

Drouin is the same height as Mackinnon and 3 pounds lighter.

Take MacKinnon with the pick, take OEL if/when there's a Yotes dispersal draft.

Boom, set at both positions!

Does Seth have potential to be a Karlsson type player?

MacKinnon. I don't like our chances developing defensemen.
