Colin Wilson

I'm just curios whats the value of Colin Wilson. If the sabres tank, I would love to have a deal at deadline for colin wilson.

Would the preds fans interested in veteran help on the wings? Vanek, Pominville, Stafford or Leino? ;-)

I'd love to see a trade like:

Pominville

for

Wilson, solid salary dump and a first round pick?

What do you guys think?

You're a Buffalo fan? Why would Buffalo do this? I'm confused.

Maybe I'm just overrating Wilson. I hoped for some information about wilson too.

I thought if the sabres are tanking, I want a rebuild with wilson and your first round pick.

A lot. He's our best offensive player and we're building our offense around him. A young perennial 30-35 goal scorer that isn't close to free agency + high pick woul probably be incentive enough for us.

He's not talking about Wilson, he's talking about the player he'd require in order to trade Wilson.

Which, of course, is ludacris. No one is going to trade their young 35 goal scorer not near FA AND a high pick for Colin Wilson.

He is a lot younger and is tearing it up lately for us. I bet he puts up more points than pominville this year. He is our future power forward. Why trade him for a much older pominville??

Wilson is finally starting to become the power forward he was drafted to be. I would LOVE to get Pominville on the Preds, and the OP's value seems right, but the Preds have zero reason to trade him right now.

So kessel for wilson and a first is off the table. I supected it would be. Fisher would be a great fit with kessel imo, but I understand you're high on wilson and kessel's contract status detracts from his value in the eyes of potential suitors.

I had a feeling that was coming Phion. I was just wondering what preds fans would think. Not trying to belittle kessel by inquiring if its fair value for the preds. Seeing the perameters that soundgarden set out, it looks like it's not a good fit, according to either of you.

Wilson has hovered around the 20 goal mark while playing 4th line minutes with 4th line linemates and almost no power play time.

This year, he's getting top six minutes with quality linemates and time on the first PP unit and...surprise, he's doing extremely well.

He's our most skilled player, and others have mentioned, despite some asinine "bust" perception around here, he's a building block in Nashville.

So yes, it would have to be a special player coming back in return.

I like Pominville a lot, and would love to have him in Nashville, but not at the expense of a 22 year old center with freakish strength and skill.

Put it this way..Wilson wasn't on the table when Boston asked for him the first time Nashville wanted to acquire Kessel.

lol You know your offense is brutal ..when. Wilson is a good player but he's certainly not a player you "base" your offense around. Good luck with that.

So you just asked for Bobby Ryan + 1st... for Colin Wilson?

Or you just asked for a resigned Phil Kessel + 1st?

Or you just asked for Thomas Vanek + 1st?

Or you just crazy.

Cool.

I don't know about that, he's well on his way to becoming a legitimate first line center or winger. Nashville base our team around goaltending and defence anyway, we are set in those areas, it's just up to adding to our offensive group. I agree Wilson is not a guy you base your offense around, but he can certainly be a key piece.

I wouldn't trade him either right now to be honest. Unless it was an equal talent we were getting back. Kessel doesn't interest me if Wilson has to be involved.

You put quotes around "base" like someone actually said that. Well done.

I mean I love Wilson, but a straight up trade for Pominville who has averaged ~65 points a season over the past five years and had 73 with 30 goals last year? Pretty sure that is balanced in our favor.

That said, I don't see how this trade works or benefits either team really. For the Preds, it just makes more sense to ride out the homegrown talent who is on a great contract for the next two seasons.

His upside is a legit first line center. The only thing holding him back to this point is the lack of a defensive game, which won't work in a Trotz system, but he's improving in that regard.

Can you give me an example of such a player? I can come up with Kessel, but he's a year and a half away from free agency yet his value alone is much higher than Wilson's...
