M.A Bergeron +6th to NYR for Steve Eminger

TB gets a 3rd pairing D that can eat a good amount of minutes. Rangers get a big shot for the PP and an upgrade to Bickel on D (no one can be worse than Bickel on D)

This thread got weird quick. MAB has a purpose with us, Eminger does not. It'd be hard pressed to swap them outright, let alone giving up a pick.

Bad time to ask for a Rangers Dman. 4 days ago you could have acquired Eminger for very little (late pick or low-level prospect). I dont see Tortorella using MAB.

I guess his purpose must be to sit in the press box then because he's played 2 games for you guys..

Eminger can actually be a serviceable 3rd pairing. He would be a staple on our 3rd pair if Torts didn't have a love affair for Bickel

Eminger is awful. We tried that experiment once. MAB can QB a powerplay if we're feeling rowdy.

No reason at all to do this.

We obviously value Eminger differently, which is fine. The Eminger I saw last season was huge defensively for the Rangers down the stretch and in the limited playoff time he saw.

From what I see from both teams, the Rangers would value a guy like MAB whereas TB would value a guy like Eminger. Do you guys really need MAB QBing your PP with Stamkos, St. Louis, Vinny, etc?

Gist of this argument is that Eminger is better defensively than MAB. Straight up Offense for Defense swap

Eminger is pretty good in sheltered minutes as a #6/#7. On top of that, he accepts his role as that guy which is awesome for the locker room.

Torts hates guys that aren't defensively responsible like MAB. Rangers wouldn't do this and honestly, it doesn't really make sense.
