Your name and your statement have to be the most contradicting thing ever.

Would do it but our goalie depth sucks. I'm sure you'll be just fine with Lehner

Am used to seeing Mrazek at the top of the AHL goalie stats, so was a little surprised to dig and find that in 6 games he's got a SAV of .876.

Bad luck? Slump? Injury?

Based on the few games I've been to this year, the entire Griffins team doesn't look too good right now. You can tell they are hurting losing Tatar, Jurco, Sheahan, ect. They were some of the better two-way guys. Maybe Mantha can change some of that now that he's back, but based on my friends testament from his first game back last Friday he wasn't to noticeable.

Sounds like your friend isn't used to watching Mantha. He played pretty well, but he's never super noticeable. That's part of his style.

We went to the Traverse City tournament, and watched Mantha in every game he's been on TV. I'll go to a game soon and many others to form my own opinion, but he told me that Mantha did essentially nothing to stand out. Half the time he didn't even realize he was on the ice for his shifts. Didn't use his body, registered maybe 2 shots on net, wasn't very responsible in his own end and his discipline was suspect from what I was told.

Now I realize that he is coming off and injury, that was his first game back in a new league and that it's only been 1 game. All I'm saying is that from what I was told he did not have a very good debut. He definitely does have the potential to boost the GR forwards situation and provide some much needed offense.

As for Mrazek. I went to a 4-0 SO/L and a 6-5 L in the two games that he played in. The Griffins just aren't a very good team right now and he's partly suffering because of that.

All I'll say is the majority of the Wings board watched that game, too, and most of us came away with the opposite opinion.

I wouldn't be surprised that it could be also a little lack of motivation. He is with Griffins for two years and already won the Calder. He would like to be in the first team already and win the big games for them.

Another solid outing by Mrazek tonight. In his first 20 or so NHL starts he's posting a sub 2 goals against. I can see a 1A/1B goalie tandem in the near future for Detroit. He's that good already.

It does look like Howard may have a short leash in the playoffs. If not this year than next year for sure.

Mrazek just been incredible since being sent back down from Detroit, 5-0 with a 0.79 GAA, .973 SV%, and 3 shutouts.

I think he'll apply what he learned with this short stint in the NHL. Like learning to harness that aggressive style he likes to play. Do that, and the kid is going to take off.

Reading plays and rebound control at the NHL level will come as he plays more NHL level games.

Detroit's goalie situation will be interesting in the next couple of years
