You also see elite vision in simple plays from Etem.

Agreed, it's due to small sample size. The thing is - those are the games Fowler has been out of.

I kinda agree with this mostly to the 'dribbles skill stick on puck and fast pass to center'

Cause he's fast and can blow past defenders no problem. You see how many posts Etem had regarding his speed and vision on the ice in the gdt from other users? Give this kid a few more games he will gell Soj.

Yeah... I'm really talking about when you're doing it. You were raving about Etem's "elite vision" after a simple reversal to Getzlaf. Simple plays become magnified by those two players. The team is playing well, and there are a lot of good plays being made. Souray, in particular, has been great on the breakout. Probably the best with Fowler out.

Oh no doubt! Souray has been a beast I've been wanting him to fire the puck many games ago! And he's finally doing it same with Beach.

I'm crossing my fingers that we might see Lindholm on this trip.

BB saving fasth for the tougher opponent tomorrow. Have to win tonight because the chances of beating Chicago on the wrong end of a b2b don't seem too good.

@icemancometh: Boudreau today on Lindholm: "He's not ready yet but he's getting better." No timetable. He's had two concussions. Team is being cautious.

Ditto. He just seemed to step into the AHL so seamlessly. I'd love to see how he looks in the NHL. If he doesn't look ready, he can always head back.

Figured it was something like that. He made the trip, which suggests he's close, but I'm not sure if he's been involved in contact drills yet.

I'm sure you did.

Vatanen in or out doesn't change the team's transition game. Maybe later it'll be different.

For the most part, I agree. The Ducks have been penned in their zone at times, but overall I think they've been good enough on the breakout, and Sami just isn't at that point where he would make or break that. Vatanen seems to be at that point where he'll give you a few good plays and a few bad ones, but over the course of an entire game he's really not much of an impact player. Not yet. When a rookie gives you that type of game, I'd usually argue they need some more time.

Seems that people are either raving about Vatanen or having an opposite reaction to it, which ends up with the polarized opinions on him. To me, it's clear that he's not physically, and maybe mentally, ready for the his role his skill level and size mandate, but there's no denying that he has constantly been making good moves with the puck, especially in moving it out of the defensive zone. I don't think it's reaching to think that sitting him (with Fowler gone) could hurt our transition game.
