Earlier in the day, Joseph sat in the dressing room and politely answered questions about his saga.

"Not having your family with you must make it even more difficult,'' he was told.

"Yep,'' he said.

"What do you do to cope with all this?''

A long pause.

"Go to the mall and listen to Christmas carols.''

Here's hoping he finds a real home for the holidays.

that part of it is his fault he did leave his Hometown to go to Detroit, basically trying to sell out for a better shot at the Cup.

I really feel sorry for the guy, regardless of his paycheck.. He left Toronto, so what? Everyone of us here, has made wrong decision's. (This can still, turn around for the good.)

You have to hand it to him, he hasnt given up. Im really hoping he can finish his career of on a high-note.

How is it selling out for a better shot at the Cup? Isn't that the goal of every player, to win a Cup in his career? You're a sellout if you follow the money, not if you go to a winning team. Cujo went to Detroit for less money than Toronto was offering him. Leafs fans need to get over their bitterness towards Cujo, players leave, it happens. I feel sorry for the guy, Detroit management are the ones to blame for this, should have got Hasek to sign those retirement papers, the 8 million dollar mistake.

I don't feel sorry for him. I don't have anything against him but I think he's got a lot of things going for him. He still plays professional hockey, he still makes eight million per season. He's healthy.

I dont know the way I look at it is that toronto wasnt a bad team and he was a big part of that he should have stayed in Toronto and tried to help them win a cup. When I said he sold out I mean he left a good team to go to the team that was perfcieved at the time to be the favorite.

With Hasek and Legace hurt Cujo has really stepped up and played well. Screw Hasek, keep Cujo.

Find it funny you say that..... The kings have less of a shot than the Leafs do.

Although Chokemanic is an amazing goalie, eh?

His rebuttal to a guy saying the Leafs have no shot was to state the obvious and say that the Kings have just as less a shot, which doesn't disprove the fact that Detroit > Toronto and that's why Cujo left.

I've been thinking this for a while. Hasek hasn't looked great and Cujo hasn't had much of a chance to play consistently. Of course, how could he play for Detroit after what he's been through. I don't think that I would if I were him.

Wouldn't it be funny if CuJo earned the number one job back somehow??

Is Hasek a free agent after this year?

I just find it hard to have sympathy for a guy that makes 8M a year and is healthy. He could have stayed in TO where he was wanted and loved. But he chose to do like Bourque, Hasek, etc. It backfired.

Now it's up to him to set his priorities straight. He knows no one wants him at this kind of money. The only thing he needs to do is go to Holland and renegociate his contract. He wants the bucks and it's alright with me. But he just shouldn't expect other people to feel sorry for him because he isn't with his family. You want to get traded ? Go renegociate your contract cuz you're untradable right now. No sympathy from me.

I feel bad for him.

He went to Detroit to have a better shot at winning the cup. It was pretty hard to swallow that fact when he left, but I don't hold any bitterness. He played amazingly well for four seasons here in Toronto, and was a large part of the franchise's return to respectability. He still makes a lot of money, but he's away from his family, he's alienated from his team, he probably won't get a starting gig for awhile, probably won't get a shot at the cup, and has been embarassed by the Red Wings by being sent to the minors and recalled on convenience. It's terrible.

I'm one of the minorities that never wanted Hasek back in the first place. As for if he's a free agent or not, i'm not sure, i'm sure someone else knows though.
