Wow. I'm surprised someone in the media would actually rip him like that. That's pretty messed up

I'm pretty sure he was interviewed on a Toronto sports radio station about a year ago. Though I forget the circumstances, there was a thread on HF.

Going back and forth with someone on twitter is completely different then getting blasted on a main stream site like yahoo without even being able to defend yourself

^ IIRC, the careers of Derek Smith of the Sixers and Derrick Smith of the Flyers briefly overlapped and there was a photo with the players wearing the other's jersey.

I see Thomas has been spending a lot of his off-time out in the sun.

Keaton Ellerby traded to the Kings for a 5th rounder.

Of course everyone on the main board sees that he is a former 1st rounder, so it's a great move by LA. They fail to realize Ellerby can not keep up with the pace in the NHL. He has struggled ever since he stepped on the ice(not talking about his skating either). I don't think things will change because he has a new sweater on.

Personally i would of stuck with Andrew Campbell(LA just sent him back to Manchester). Instead of giving up an asset(albiet a minimal one) for Ellerby

Iuno I would have taken the chance. 5th rounder? Why not. Could suck or be solid. Low risk high reward. Especially for the flyers. Oh well

For the Flyers there would be no reason to do it. More then anything else except centers maybe we have bottom pairing d. Which is what Ellerby is. We already have five guys fit for the role. Seven maybe. Syvret, Gustafsson, MAB, Lilja, Walker, Gervais, Foster. Do we really need eight?

no, if the flyers want to be contenders i like to see them get an impact defensemen not a number 1 but a guy that can defend/score goals, i dont know who but from some bad team has those abilities like with boston and toronto in 2011 with thomas kaberle

Jamie Benn becoming my Fantasy secret weapon. I figured Jagr would have the same effect on him as he did on Giroux!

As surprising as it is to see Florida at #1, what's up with Pittsburgh at #15? Small sample size, but that road attendance number is shocking.

The radio host on 97.5, post-game, said "Ryan O'Reilly is part Rod Brind'Amour, part Dave Poulin and part Bobby Clarke."

Again small sample size but I wonder what Bettman thinks about that Phoenix attendance number.

Phoenix really needs to move elsewhere, like Seattle, where hockey is more of a thing there. With a new owner, a new place, and hopefully a rejuvenated revenue and attendance, would make them spend more for players and become a more exciting team.

I think their new arena is still a couple years away. I have to assume that once it's completed, they'll shuttle the Yotes up there ASAP.

I don't think Bettman wants to add a Quebec team, or another Toronto team. For the sake of contract negotiations in the US, it behooves him to maximize US markets, and I imagine Seattle works better in that regard.
