Dater said it was because Palushaj was a non roster player but now he's a roster player so they had to send VDG down. But even with Palushaj on the roster, we're only at 22 players because Wilson was put on IR. So I have no idea what he's talking about.

Read a report that the Avs are putting Landy on day-to-day status, so I assume it's him taking up the last roster spot.

He's really testing my patience to give him another chance this year. How hard is it to add up how many players are active, and how many aren't?

I think he just talks without thinking, or double checking things way too often.

Maybe the Avs don't want to carry a full 23 man roster right now, so it's possible that VDG was sent down because Pulashaj was picked up

Yes absolutely. I mentioned that when we first acquired him, but that's not what Dater was saying, or that's what he would have said.

If that was the case they would've sent vdg down and played Pulasahasdflaldsl last game. Imo this is clearly a move to keep a space open for Landy bc they think hes close. Why Wouldn't they want to carry another spare forward, at the rate we've been getting injuries. It doesnt make sense to me.

They could keep Palpatinecachua and VDG on the team. There's no reason to leave space open for Landy. If he's ready before the next game, they take him off the IR, and then send down VDG. What if he has a setback, and someone gets sick or injured in the pregame skate? Now they're down a forward.

Don't they save money by paying VDG AHL wages instead of NHL wages?

Yes...Greg is a ****ing accountant and no he hasn't met a penny he didn't want to save.

I just cant see any other reason to only carry 22 guys, unless maybe they need one roster spot for ROR's ego?

That's the only reason I see, unless they are 100% certain Landy is ready, which I don't see as possible since he hasn't resumed skating, or taking contact yet.

How I see his injury is, since it hasn't been long, probably was just a minor concussion they didnt wan't to take their chances with. No way if it was serious theyd even consider letting him skate again so soon, since mueller and hison. Let alone leak that hes gonna be back at practice soon.

Edit: Just dont think Landy would've said he was fine in interviews with the press after the game if he was having major symtoms. He seems like a really intelligent guy who wouldnt put his career at risk by lying. They probably just shut him down for a few weeks to be cautious and to let whatever the deal with his leg heal up as well.

Not to mention letting him come back in the game, and duchene saying he wont be out long. It just all adds up to precautionary if you ask me.

I doubt it has anything to do with money. Landeskog is close. Van der Gulik wasn't going to play and is more useful playing for LEM, who has their own share of injury problems.

Allowed roster size in the NHL is 20-23 players. There is no point having 23 players just for the sake of it.

I think MacKinnon or Jones would be a good starting point .

But good to probably have Landeskog back soon. But he better not screw up our tank

Sure hope they don't rush Landeskog back in any way.

That's the last thing this franchise would need, risking further injury.

This team is about the last team I'd expect to rush a concussed player back. If anything we are over cautious with concussions. They were super patient with Mueller and have been super patient with Hishon. I highly doubt they would risk one of their franchise players getting hurt worse just to get him back in the lineup.

You would think so, but they let him come back in the San Jose game.

Hope you're right though.

As will Avs in the long run. They can survive a couple of days at 22.
