He is an expert in stretch-passes. Also has an uncanny ability to get his shot on net on the Powerplay through a maze of bodies. Those two highlights from last night are basically Brenden Kichton in a nutshell.

OKay so Reinharts Oil Kings won 7-0 tonight and the stat sheet shows a ho-hum 1 assist and +1 in the box score. I tried to do a little better showing more of Reinharts game in tonights highlights. I left a few nice plays out by Griff, but this should be enough for some fans to get an idea of what this guy does every night.

Not sure if this was posted, but here is a short paragraph about Doyle Somerby from recent article by Corey Pronman :

Quote:
Doyle Somerby, Defense, New York Islanders, US High School

Somerby was drafted in the fifth round by the Islanders out of Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire, the high school at which he currently plays. One scout made a point to make sure Somerby was on my radar. He is a 6'5',' 220-something defenseman who that scout said, "skates at an above-average level and has offensive skill." He continued by saying there's not a coach who wouldn't want a player his size if they knew he can skate and move the puck like him. Somerby is still a significant work in progress, though, with a lot of holes in his defensive game. He will attend Boston University next season.

Nice to read. I mean, he Is physically impressive for an 18 year old. I think with Somerby and Bischoff, these two are 4 or 5 years away from even thinking about NHL, which is why they are almost never brought up in prospect conversations. Bischoff isn't supposed to attend U of Minnesota until the 2014-15 season as a freshman, he's going to the USHL first I believe.

Nice to have them in the system as long term investments though.

Agreed. I believe Bischoff was injured for some time and has played only 13 games (6g+9a) so far this season. Despite his injury he was named as Mr. Hockey Award finalist.

OHL finally made the change. You are a lot quicker than they are.

Unfortunately tonights Pedan penalties fall more under the category of dumb than the do mean and nasty, penalties here:

I'll have more highlights tomorrow if I still have Power.

More accurate to say he's missing Dougie Hamilton's ability to transition the puck from the defensive zone to the offensive zone. Hamilton's loss is the biggest factor in the IceDogs struggles, and why Strome/Ritchie aren't tearing it up like they were in the first half of the season.

Here are the goals from tonights game. As I said earlier in the year on the board, there is nobody in the Islanders organization that is better in front of the net than this kid. Not in Europe, Not in Juniors, Not in Bridgeport and not in Uniondale.

I LOVE his Size...

2 years ago he absolutley dominated the isles prospect camp along with Brock Nelson...
Outplayed Strome and Nino even....

PLEASE dont let this kid get away without seeing what he can become...

Give him an ELC

I don't think I've seen 2 goals in this tight from Petrov all year. He enjoys most of his success from a different are on the ice (In the slot, hash marks...DEADLY)

Yes ITM you got it, deadly in the slot. For now I have forgotten about Petrov, After next year if he stays in Russia he's never coming over. I still believe Anders Lee will sign once the college season ends.

Petrov uses his size 6'3, 224lbs well in the slot...his hands are better in traffic than Lee IMO, and is therefore able to be more of a set-up type player. His hands and shot make him a scoring threat from the outside too.

That said, Lee is a special prospect, and the only thing I see holding him back from being a top 6 is his skating...there aren't too many NHL prospects out there that have a legit chance at being the next Milan Lucic, but Anders is certainly one of them.

I don't think there's any way Snow lets this stud escape the corral.

Along with Ullstrom, Nino (barring a trade...), Sundstrom, and all the trees on defense we have coming makes for an absolutely flithy prospect pool where size and skill is concerned.

And Petrov? He's going to parachute into Brooklyn...and this team is going to be a powerhouse.

Whoever is announcing that game should do the NHL. It made me excited from only 20 seconds of footage...
