Arbitration may be one reason why Avs dragging their feet re-signing O'Reilly. (If he plays 6+ games this season, he'd be eligible to go to arbitration.)

Part of it depends on the ownership; are they penny-pinching kind?

He's a draft wizard. He'll do great things with their 3 1st rounders this year - including the possible return of Russian players to CBJ.

If the Jackets land one of the top-6 #1C/#1D guys, grab a sliding Nichushkin, and a sleeper of Kekavainen's, then they're pretty set. They've got a nice support group: Johansen, Murray, Nikitin, Tyutin, Johnson, Dubinsky, Atkinson, Jenner, Anisimov, Brassard, Erixon. They just need that #1C or #1D (Johansen an Murray are close, but not ideal together).
For the first time, I'm excited for the Jackets.

Former Shark (current Canuck) Manny Malhotra to IR. Out for season.
TSNBobMcKenzie 11:40am via Twitter for BlackBerry®
The bottom line on Manny Malhotra: there are deep concerns his eye injury/vision are not at level to allow him to safely play the game.
Actually sounds like it might be the end of his career.
