Wondering if Big Bird has had any time to coach some fundamentals with Big Foot.

I've grown to love Burns, but the guy is basically the most unorthodox defender in the league.

Not sure if you guys and gals seen the pics from the meet and greet today (posted on facebook) but burns no longer looks disgusting. He trimmed his beard to a more respectable length (still long, but looks better)

So if Petrecki is getting traded, what's coming back? Maybe it's just him for a pick, or he could be in a package for a bigger trade.

Also, Burnzie coming back is amazing news, you could feel his absence the last few games.

burns isn't the key to the sharks success, and neither is boyle.

its the type of players that those 2 are that is the key to the sharks early success.

demers/braun are puck moving defensemen, just not even remotely close to what burns and boyle bring to the table.

you lose a boyle or burns on the backend, and it means other teams can easily shut down the sharks break out, just cover the sharks forwards and the sharks cannot break out of there zone.

having both burns and boyle on seperate d-pairings is going to give other teams nightmares, especially if those 2 pairings is followed up by a pairing of braun/demers/irwin.

it will mean 3 full pairings of puckmovers.

Petrecki would clear waivers easily. Every team in the league has a guy like him.

What are you even trying to say here? Boyle and Burns aren't the keys to the Sharks success, but Boyle and Burns are the keys to the Sharks success?

He said "a boyle or burns" i.e. a top caliber puckmoving defenseman.

That doesn't change anything. Boyle and Burns aren't keys to the Sharks success, top caliber puckmoving defensemen are? Well, Boyle and Burns are top caliber puck moving defensemen...

Right, but not Boyle or Burns per se.

I mean you do have a point, being that those are the two top puckmoving defensemen we have, and we aren't likely to get others, so in a way that point is moot. But it literally makes sense.

What he's saying doesn't make a lick of sense.

"Boyle and Burns aren't what we need. What we need are puckmovers like Boyle and Burns."

Well we got them, so...I guess we're good? I agree we need puckmovers, but the statement is confusing because we already have the puckmovers on our roster. I think he meant to say that we're lucky to have them (and younger less-effective players of a similar mold), but then why say they're not the keys to our success? They absolutely are.

It seems like he was trying to sound philosophical, but he just said it extremely poorly. "Boyle and Burns aren't necessary, their skill-set is."
Well obviously. What else is it going to be? No one here ever claimed that it was their personality or something trivial that was the key to our success.

Are you insane? Burns' tattoos and Boyle's love of rock music are literally the only thing keeping this team from completely falling apart. It's basic hockey knowledge bro.

Not surprised.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Nick Petrecki (SJS) and Dana Tyrell (TBL) on waivers today.

Not until tomorrow - Petrecki has to either be claimed or clear before the roster spot is open. So no Burns today.

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Can't believe we are going to lose Petrecki for nothing. Would have rather jettisoned Murray for nothing if need be.

If he gets picked, bad asset management by DW again.

I really don't understand this...what do you expect Wilson to do?

Petrecki isn't going to crack the SJ line up either this year or next and he isn't worth anything in a trade. Irwin has 100% earned the right to stay in the NHL. Only other option was to trade another d-man and a) that's a huge mistake right now and b) Robinson really likes Murray so it wouldn't be him.

agreed, losing mclaren wasn't that big of a deal because he was nothing special and didn't really have the potential to be anything special.

petrecki even though is still struggling to grasp the difference between jr and pro game, still has that untapped potential that just needs to be found. once he finds that game, he could be a steady shutdown, physical defensemen (think murray, just much better)

apparently robinson disagree's with you on the fact that petrecki isn't nhl ready.

I didn't say he isn't NHL ready - I said he isn't going to crack the San Jose line up.

thats the point though, the other poster was making. if petrecki is lost, then wilson lost a good depth defensemen for nothing.

and if what you say is true about murray, the odd man out sooner or later will be irwin.

what i see once burns and demers are 100% is this

burns/vlasic
boyle/stuart
demers/braun/murray

irwin
