As nice it would be to have Kane, no thanks. Neal's chemistry with Geno should not be touched. Also makes no sense, we need a winger for Crosby, this gives that to us, but we then need a sniper for Malkin.

so do the Pens. i really like E. Kane, but not at the expense of Neal. thats mainly due to his chemistry with Malkin. plus, throwing in Harrington doesnt persuade me either way.

I agree with you it makes me laugh I'm sure there will be a bunch jets fans saying no way without seeing the bigger picture you guys have a gem in Harrington a shut down guy who will end up getting all sorts of ice time,the jets are really hurting for a pure goal scorer who can score on the PP and Neal is exactly that.this deal fits the jets needs to a tee not so much for the penguins I think jets fans underestimate how much Kanes lack of hockey IQ and passing ability will limit his progression.

Don't you understand? We'd only be trading a 1st Team All-Star winger, the Jets would be trading a guy who hopes to one day become an all-star winger. We have to add.

Penguins trade a washed up 25 year old for an upcoming 21 year old. Because Winnipeg absorbs the risk of Neal, on the downside of his career and signed until he's an ancient 31, they receive a solid prospect in Harrington for their trouble.
Now the last thing I'm going to do is bash 40 goal James Neal...but they are definitely different players. Kane would work a lot better with Crosby than he would Malkin IMO. Neal is more of a Stamkos type sniper who can one time it from anywhere. Kane is more like Phil Kessel with a power game in that his best shots come from a laser wrister from anywhere in close. He'd score 50 on Crosby's wing and a guy like Letang feeding him next season.
Like the Pens fans have said though, then they'd be left without a sniper on Malkin's line. Both are rare players for sure. It would hurt the Pens PP more than you'd think as well. The difference isn't Harrington. Kane is definitely not a worse player than Neal despite their goal totals that I can say WITH AUTHORITY!! lol
