Those two scrubs are playing good hockey. In fact one of them was tied with Hands of stone himself for team lead in points. I fear you don't know what you are talking about

Don't worry about the Oilers fans posting this, Jason Strudwick said on his show that the Oilers will never be able to afford all 4 of them, but seriously, Struds has taken way to many shots to the head. He's basically Edmonton medias version of Kypreos.

It's pretty accurate.
For the majority of last season he was the guy driving the offense.
Without him, the top line simply did not look the same.
He gives defense fits with his speed, he is developing his physical game, and has good leadership qualities and has the compete level of a future captain.
Some people think because he doesn't have the pure shot of Yakupov, or the hands of Eberle, or the vision of RNH that he is the least talented of the top 4.
While he may have the least pure talent, a lot of times he is the most effective offensively of the 4, and you only have to look at his goals and points per game to see that.
And now this year his shoulder has been fixed and he looks healthy, the sky is the limit IMO. It's pretty obvious he isn't going anywhere.

I dont see him putting up a PPG throughout his career. With Yakupov i see this guy putting up some 90pt seasons and becoming an elite player.
Dealing a player like Hall could get the oilers a franchise goalie.
Hall needs to get some hands on dekes. If he uses his quick shot without thinking too much he is fine. He is presently the strongest, Yak will pass him IMO. Right now he should have the most trade value and if they are trading him we need a very large center, Jordan Staal type.
Why wouldn't Edmonton be able to afford all 4 of Hall, Eberle, RNH and Yakupov?
Chicago manages to afford Kane, Toews, Hossa, Sharp, Keith and Seabrook.
Apparently only elite teams can afford their players.

Pittsburgh - Malkin, Crosby, Letang, Neal, and Fleury.
Rangers - Nash, Gaborik, Richards, Hank, and all their D.
I could pretty much list the high paid core of every team, and every one of them can afford their top guys.
Oilers will have no problem affording RNH, Schultz, Yakupov, Eberle, and Hall.
If it comes down to it, Oilers will shed money by losing Whitney, Horcoff, Hemsky, and Gagner, the same way the Hawks let go guys like Ladd, Campbell, Buff, and Brouwer.
You never let go of core players for money, unless you have some sort of internal cap with poor ownership.

A Jordan Staal type centre would be great, but you don't trade 1st line players away for 2nd line players if you ever expect to win.
When you're close to winning, you make a trade similar to Carolina and give up some future pieces for a centre, not current core pieces.

Goalies are the most unpredictable assets in the NHL. A goalie who's in the running for the Vezina one year could become one of the worst contracts in the NHL a season later (see: Bryzgalov, Ilya), whereas other times a goalie could come out of nowhere and put their name into the Vezina balloting (see: Smith, Mike). The only goalies who've been consistently good for the past 5 seasons are Henrik Lundqvist and Ryan Miller, (Luongo if you don't count playoffs). You don't take the big risk of trading a first line 20 year old for a guy who could fall off the face of the Earth in 2 seasons.
