Really? What've they done that's so horrid? Ice a legit top-four defense? Be one of the highest-scoring teams in the league? What have they done thus far that's so bad?
So they traded for a goalie who might not report. Big deal. If he reports and plays, the Isles have an elite goalie, which, right now is their only glaring weakness. If he doesn't report, it doesn't cost them a thing. The media pundits have only speculated on the fact that this could allow them to cheat the cap floor. We don't know if they're going to do that for sure. It looks like insurance in case Visnovsky flakes out yet again and doesn't report, which would put them below the cap floor, I believe, and also if they choose (which I'm guessing they will) to use a compliance buyout on DiPietro.
Don't use the Isles as a comparable. Right now they're more of a 1st class organization than the Avs are at present.
If they do some sort of fire sale at season's end, I'll eat my words. But I don't think that will happen.

So, I'm watching a bit of the Pittsburgh/NJ game right now.
I've watched 2 NJ PP's, and if it was at all possible, BOTH of them were WORSE than any Avs PP I've seen. Just very lackadaisical and whatnot.
And then on the 2nd PP I was watching, Kovy straight-up leveled Henrique with what would register as the hardest hit Kovalchuk has ever laid on another NHL opponent!
(It wasn't that hard, just comical to watch Kovy stare ahead and continue skating while Henrique wasn't looking, thinking that Henrique would move)

During PPs they should use the camera from behind the net tos ee the goalies POV, looks a lot better imo.

Skinner with a snipe to tie the game in Philly. Sick shot.
Then the Flyers score on the next play to retake the lead.

Justin Schultz scores again. He has 7 points on the season, Avs defensemen have combined for 7 points.

I never said anything about the Norris. Some Oilers fans might overrate him but he's still going to be a really good player.
No one cares about Liles.

Tyler Myers is making (prorated) $12 million this year.
He's a healthy scratch today.

Holy crap. That's crazy. Since $10 million was from a signing bonus, is it still prorated or do they have to pay him the full amount?

Edmonton has a lot of skill on that PP. They move the puck so well.

Schultz really cut down the rebuilding time for the Oilers by 2-3 years. Gives them a free top 4 PMD who potentially can become a #2, decent in his own zone and makes the Oilers PP that much deadlier.

Coyotes are as boring as Avs to watch, but with more bodies in front of the net. Terrible hockey.
I hope Leafs make the playoffs. Their fans are more entertaining whey they are playing well.

Vanek scored again.
Tavares drew a penalty, his skating improved a lot.
