The big thing is the 3rd and 4th lines will only average 1mil each so that is 6mil and that will leave 30 mil for the rest of the team. I can see it working out.

Hopefully Dub keeps proving himself and is a legit number 1 goalie for us. He doesn't have to be a top 5 but a top 10 in the leauge will really help us.
No.. unless you are paying for ahlers. Paajarvi-Lander-Jones will cost about 7 mil. Bottom line should be about 3 mil. Then your 8 mil for your other 2 top 6 forwards, and you are up to 48 mil for your forwards and a D. Dub will get 5 if he proves himself as a top 15er, Smid will be about 4.5 mil, Petry and Klefbom will get 4 mil, N. Schultz will stay around 2 mil, And Fistric about 2 mil.
Rough description;
F line 1: Hall-Nuge-Eberle -> 18 million
F line 2: Top 6 LW-Gagner-Yakupov -> 14 million
F line 3: Paajarvi-Lander-Jones -> 7 million
F line 4: 3 million

D line 1: Schultz-Smid -> 10.5 million
D line 2: Petry-Klefbom -> 8 million
D line 3: Schultz-Fistric -> 4 million

#1 goalie: Dubnyk -> 5 million
Backup: 1 million
~70.5 million, which I expect it to get back up to by Yak needing a contract.

I'd offer something around Gardiner+Kulemin+2nd for Hall. Gardiner-Schultz obviously, and a good role model Russian for Yak.

I'm a big Hall fan from his days as a spits, Oilers would be stupid to trade him but I would love him on the Devils, Hall-Henrique is a dream

this is what it should take from an Oilers POV. To get one of the big four from the Oilers it will take a piece that hurts a ton that helps the Oilers either up the middle or on the blueline.

Gm would need to be a mental case to trade any of them. Have you not seen oil change? They are inseparable. Even if they made a good trade performance would probably go down because they wouldn't be having as much fun

Yay, another overreaction thread because Hall made som dumb decisions with the puck today against a veteran Red Wings team that boasts a player who might be the greatest two way forward in history. Then there's that Zetterberg guy too. Not to shabby.

We got out coached today by a team WAY more disciplined within their system. Hall unfortunately had two of the more glaring turnovers, one he erased my making an excellent backcheck. Trade him right ****ing now!

As far as the guy who doesn't see The Nuge as a #1, all I can say is wow. The kid is only 19 and is our most defensively responsible forward. The points will come with some time and a few bounces.

But its just the matter of time before Yakupov surpasses Hall. Plus he plays with 2 scrubs and doesnt get top ice like Hall does, so he wont put up great numbers. Yakupov is a much more skilled dynamic player.
Wow you really have no idea what you're taking about and anyone who listens to you is just as big of an idiot.

Pretty good trade for both teams even. Unlikely that elite young players get moved but hey.

I don't understand how it's not common knowledge yet how Hall is valued by the Oiler fanbase. I'm getting real tired of seeing people think Hall is the least valued out of the four when Oiler fans have said time and time and time again that he is not even close to the least valued.

Leafs really shouldn't be trading for another winger, we have enough for our top 6 between Kessel, Lupul, JVR, MacA, Kulemin, Frattin, etc. but if we were, what would we have to add to Gardiner to get Hall?

Gardiner + Colborne + (If you want a centre with some potential, might be able to be a #2C if he can put it together)

Something around Gardiner + Kulemin +

Something around Gardiner + MacA ++?

I'd do it. But personally I'd rather trade Eberle.

The knocks on Hall are his shot accuracy is poor and his breakaway moves are weak. I'd say there is no chance we are trading him, I'd put his value just below that of Nuge and I'd say he is the best player on the team at present. He plays a very north south game and is amazing at getting the puck up the ice from the defensive end to the offensive end of the ice. The second his skate touches the ice it's like the rink has been jacked up in our favour and the puck starts going the other way. More than any other player he is the straw stirring the drink and quite often is the basis for the start of any strong offensive pressure we generate.

For those who don't know Nuge, Eberle, and Hall went from the sheltered minutes many young players get- trying to get them easier match-ups to going head to head against the best the other team has to offer. It's a huge step in any young players maturation process and their offensive numbers will inevitably suffer a bit because of it.

I'm sorry... I don't usually think this about other posts, but almost every single thing you said here is wrong. Just wrong.
The contract values are way off,especially that third line and defense. And there is no way that offer for Hall would ever go through.

Not that I think the oilers will or should trade Hall but 2 of the players in your Chicago example have contracts that would be illegal if a team attempted to make them now.

He's a no.1 overall pick who despite not having the greatest start to the season is still at about a ppg this year and was basically a ppg last year too before getting hurt.

Players like this do not come cheap. For me to be happy with a deal for him it would have to be something like Hall + Gagner for Tavares or something. Which would never happen either.

This ^ if it were happening at all, especially nos. 1 and 2.

But this subject has been reviewed extensively, before and since Yakupov and even J. Schultz. Unless/until there is some other dynamic, Oilers will not trade, and especially not trade Hall, who is like their identity guy.

I once asked, if yankees offered mantle and ford for ted williams, do you make that trade? It makes you a better team, arguably, given importance of pitching.

Same thing, there is an emotional attachment and only massive overpay beyond all reason will do it.

For example, I have consider Girardi basically equal value for Hall, and would be amenable to small plus added. But they consider Girardi closer to Hemsky +, which is not anywhere near close.

Even Staal, it's not Marc Staal straight up, it's Staal +.

The only D they view as straight up is McDonagh.

Until there can be some meeting in the middle, some consensus of the minds, with balanced add ons, Edmonton and New York will not be able to agree to swap any of their respective strengths for improved balance.

In 20 years all these posts about Eberle being so much better than Hall are going to look pretty hilarious when people look back at their careers.

After RNH, Hall is the last player on the Oilers that I'd trade away.
