Yashin is finally off the books, what is he going to do when he is not receiving millions for doing nothing.

Franson holds no value what so ever to the NYI. He's not an upgrade on their current top 5.

And the isles are not helping Leaf nation feel good, about losing Seguin/Hamilton by dealing two recent lottery picks+ another first for Toronto's soon to be ufa.

Fans have speculated that it wasn't the $4m salary, but the term. Isles did not want to give Parenteau a 4-5 yr deal, with their top kids getting close to nhl ready and Parenteau at 28, did not want a short term deal.

What? The move to Brooklyn will attract players, not repel them. Unless you think they would prefer to play at the Nassau coliseum

Why doesn't Grabner play with Tavares?

Separating Moulson from Tavares is difficult surgery.

Yashin is on the books at $2.2m per, until July 2015.

A PWF/Scoring type is the best fit for JT, not a speedster.

Tavares really benefitted from Parenteau becuase PA was good at getting a clean entry into the offensive zone. When PA got into the offensive zone there would usually be multiple defenders around him, he would then dish it to Tavares who worked in magic undressing the rest of the defense, which because of Parenteau's entry, wasn't much of a challenge for him.

It has to be either Strome or Nino. Because Garth the Hoarder isn't trading for anyone, and we all know the isles issues with getting players to sign there.

Kessel will not touch the UFA market. There is absolutely no reason not to sign him long term. Without an overpayment; we're keeping our top 10 scorer.

Marian Gaborik and Corey Perry I'd say are the runaway top 2. You might be able to make an argument for Kessel over Hossa based on age. After that I'd say the argument for Kessel is a pretty easy one.

No argument he is... 6th in NHL scoring last, 6th in goals, 2nd among RW.

So it's bitter to say that no team is giving up 2 recent, high lottery picks+ a 1st rounder for1 and 1/2 yrs of kessel?

I call that a realistic look at Kessel's trade value. Feel free to bump this thread, when Toronto gets 2 recent, high lottery picks+ a 1st for him.

What, please explain... The only thing i would give to Kessel, would be the sniper part... every other aspect of hockey, goes to Hossa

Mine:
Strome + 1st for Bobby Ryan
To Toronto:
Kyle Okposo
Matt Martin
Ryan Strome

To New York Isles:
Phil Kessel
Tyler Bozak
