I think he was saying a multiple SC champion and future HOF who has never been accused of floating can miss optional skates.

Where as the face of the franchise who is the C of a team that is clearly not living up to its potential should never miss any opportunity to practice until the team stops playing like crap. Same goes for his side kicks with the A on their sweaters. Nicky and GreenLife. The supposed leaders of the team.

Lidstrom liked to polish his cup rings in the am. That's why he missed morning skates.

Morning skate isn't a practice. There are no coaches. Its a warm up. Watch any teams video of morning skates, the players aren't trying, just like warm ups, slow shots and skating. Ovechkin could go on a bike and get better conditioning.
Sure, but could he work on his slap shot or one timer on a bike? Or maybe try to find another move since the NHL has figured out his one and only move about 3 years ago. Or maybe rally the troops up for some extra work, since you know, they are in last place.

If there was no value in extra work, no one would show up for them ever and there wouldn't be any reporting on it. Not showing up for them sings that the current situation isn't that unacceptable.

I just said morning skates they don't do anything... You respond with, he should skate really hard and try to shoot the puck hard, WHICH NO ONE DOES IN MORNING SKATES.

Mike Vogel ‏@VogsCaps
#Caps line tonight: 25-9-8, 17-19-20, 16-85-42, 26-83-15, Defense: 27-52, 4-74, 55-36. Holtby in goal. 3, 44, 90 out. #CapsCats

Chimera put on the top line before Ward... I guess it really must be a handedness thing.

No 7 defensemen though.

MoJo won't be here next year, i'm sure of it.

Wolski is useless too, get rid of him.

Oates is really just a line-juggler.

I'm predicting a convincing win tonight. 3+ goal margin. There will be talk about buying into Oates's system and who we should add to make a deep playoff run.

Wolski has worked better with Backstrom in the bigger picture then he has with Ribeiro.

People to busy blaming Ovechkin for everything to see how lack luster he's been with Ovi and Ribeiro.

Ovechkin the only Caps goal scorer without a big celebration. That's depressing.

That is the most ******** interference penalty I've ever seen. The ****** just skated right into Green. Didn't even bother trying to get around him.

I'm all for calling the obstruction penalties but that is embellishment on the Panthers if anything.

Sorry Carlson, not Green.
