best game i've seen from him in a while.

He is playing with confidence and has been fairly physical surprisingly.

I'm pretty sure that he doesn't need games like this.

He's been pretty adamant that he won't be making any big changes or any changes at all. Sure wins like this don't help if we want to tank, but GMGM won't tank. Might as well hope for wins and enjoy then. I'm still not really optimistic, but the season still has a lot of games left...

Exactly. He's made a couple of good saves (that glove save in the first, that shorthanded chance he just stopped), but for the most part he's fielding easy perimeter shots. The kind of shots that usually lead to one or two bad goals a game when Holtby's in net. He's also continuing to over-commit to shots and throw himself out of position when things get crazy down low.

So far, he's making the saves he's supposed to make, which is better than he is most nights. That doesn't make tonight's performance "good."

Ted's Take:

"Corner Turning Game"

"That's how it felt last night. We have preached patience under a new coach and system and I truly believe that we saw that last night. I firmly believe that we will see more of that now and with so many games still left, the playoffs are a strong possibility."

Or maybe a win gives them the confidence to play like we know they can.

I'd be willing to miss the playoffs if one of our young goalies establishes themself as the #1(preferably Holtby)

I'm just tired of waiting.

The caps needed a game like this. They have the talent, it is just everyone is playing below ave. I hope this game will start a winning streak.

That's what I'm hoping for. I feel they've been improving game by game, but I want more consistent good play.

The start of the 1st and end of the 2nd were a little sloppy, but all in all two solid periods from the Boys. Need to carry that into the 3rd.

74, 55, 16 and 85 have looked good tonight specifically. Would really like to see Fehr establish himself.

Bad call.

Honestly as you guys said, you have a talented team. You guys just need to play with confidence like today. This will start a streak.

Also, I present this game as exhibit A for anyone on this board trying revise history WRT Flash. He's invisible or worse, soft as a baby's bottom, 95% of the time, and puts 1 or 2 good shots on net during the other 5%.

Don't miss him at all.

Yeah, I've been really impressed by Fehr and Ward tonight. I think that they make Perrault look better. I'm still iffy on MP, he's just so damn small and seems so fragile.

What I want more than anything is to see Ovechkin get a regular strength goal. That would be a victory for me.

There you are... our good luck charm! You being gone is the reason we've been losing so much.
