Alright, so I gather that most fans think my previous suggestion of Stéphane Richer would be worth a shot, but that they'd have to think about it a little more before going ahead. I understand the reticence, given that he hasn't played in about 2 years. But as I said, the man has a CH-shaped golf course, you can't say no to that.

Anyway, I have another idea that I think will get a better reception. Who, you ask? Jesse Bélanger, that's who. The guy is a talented skater with a good touch around the net. He's shown in the past he can put up the numbers, he just needs to be given the right chance. He's perfectly suited to the new NHL. I think he's the #2 centre we've been looking for. If I were Bob, I'd give him the same deal I'd give Richer. A low base salary with nice performance bonuses.

Yes or no?

I don't get it... I read your other posts and you seem like an ok poster... and then you come up with these weird ideas of signing some finished players and you're serious about it. or are you?

Your Richer idea was laughed at and I'm sure 75% of the people who said it was a good idea were using sarcasm. I can,t imagine many people actually wanting Richer back.

and Jesse Bélanger? ouuuuh... as a 2nd liner? What will be your next suggestion? Give a 1st line spot to Guy Lafleur and Henri Richard? We're lucky that Maurice is resting in peace or you would have said his name

what about a first line of Lafleur-Béliveau-Henri Richard?

Patrick Traverse is still available.

He could be the solution to all our defensive problems.

I mean how can teams even think about Chara or Pronger while this guy is on the open market. A 35min per game Dman who hits, skates, scores, kills penalties, qb on the PP, fights, and is a natural born captain!!!! He even speaks french, strip Saku of the C and give it to him!! Wow what more could you want in a UFA???

He used to play for us, then he went to Dallas. With the carbo connection we have the advantage to get him Bob, sign him now. I'd give him 8.5 million a year for 10 years.

IMO, I would sign Poti, Peca and-or Anson Carter. Any of them would be a welcome addition.
