mallet picks up another assist while SH. 3 points so far on the night, and that makes it 7 points in his last three games.

Looks like they're using the guy in all situations down there (PP, PK, EN).

Just to add: 9 points in last 6 games and 15 points in last 14 games. Ever since he was moved off that 3rd line to the 2nd and then eventually 1st he has been lighting it up.

That's reminiscent of exactly how he began lighting it up in the Q, come to think of it.

Nice to see our young high / mid drafted guys leading the Wings in PPG average.

How many games are played in ECHL?Wings not far behind the last PO spot,it would be great if they get in and play some more games.

They play 72 games, 4 less than the AHL regular season. K-Wings are currently 10th in their conference in terms of points percentage (not including tonight).

Mallet ended the game with 1g and 2a, +3 and 4 shots. I thought his linemates (Clarke and Lysak) were their 2nd line? Either way, great to see how he's been doing as of late.

^ I think people have written him off, as far as Sauve is concerned. I wouldn't be opposed to the affiliate signing him to a contract though.

Jeremy Price had another assist. 17pts in 27 pts. Hoping we sign him when his season is done and he gets some games in with the Wolves. I think he could be a sleeper much like Bieksa was way back. Sign a cocky selfish Russian, have Price punch him out, profit?

Some quotes from an article from about a month ago on Ben Hutton:

Quote:
He quarterbacks one of Maine’s power-play units and has four power-play points (1 & 3). He also sees occasional duty on the penalty kill.

“I’ve been really impressed with him,” said Maine senior defenseman Mike Cornell, who is Hutton’s defense partner. “He’s going to end up the best of all of us. He has a really, really high ceiling as to what he can become. Right now, he’s only scratching the surface of where he’ll be. He’s naturally gifted.”

Cornell said Hutton reminds him of former partner Josh Van Dyk.

“He has a goofy laid-back personality and he’s really poised with the puck,” said Cornell. “He’s heady. He’s a smooth, silky player. It’s a pleasure to play with him.”
Quote:
“He’s a good player,” said Northeastern University coach Jim Madigan, whose Huskies will host the Black Bears on Friday night before Maine visits Merrimack College on Saturday night. “He moves the puck well and is smart. He is a presence on the ice with the puck.

Maine coach Tim Whitehead said Hutton has been a great addition.

He has very good hockey sense, he works hard and he is very coachable,” he said. “He has all the tools to become an elite player.”
Quote:
Hutton’s transition to college hockey was a challenge.

“At the start, it was definitely a different speed. Everything was quicker, everybody was stronger,” said the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Hutton. “You have to make quicker decisions. I feel now that I’m adjusting pretty well.”

He said he has learned the importance of playing “a little bit more simple…having tighter gaps (between himself and opposing forwards). And using your defense partner helps so much.”

Too bad about Hutton missing at least the last 4 games. Maybe that article jinxed him

Gaunce has 2 assists already, it's 2-1 Bellville, Graovac with 2G.

Gaunce has 20G 18A 38P in 42GP.

Can't wait for the playoffs.

To his defence the whole Denmark team played sub standard.

They were trying too focus on the Defensive aspect of the game, as that has always in the past been lackluster. So first thing for them was to get a shutout, which they got.

The tactical build up for the game, wasn't really suited too players like Jensen.

Our 3rd line grinders were arguably the best line on the ice and the players we normally expect stuff from were not really there.

Also Jensen is very new to the senior team, and has not yet developed propper chemistry with the team.

Denmark are playing again tonight 8pm against Slovenia (12AM Vancouver time.)

The streams are available from the same place as last, and the site should be safe.
My computer is VERY VERY proctected, and I was able to enter the site without any warnings.

Also, remember this is very important for Denmark, so guys like Jensen wont be getting massive amounts of TOI in these games as players with more experience are relied upon. I im not certain but I think most of the 3rd line played more than Jensen did.

And YES - it was indeed a VERY boring game! But the coaches were satisfied as they wanted to have a solid performance from the D. The game today should be a different one style wise.
Ugh, I see they lost against Slovenia, did you get a chance to watch it?

I think Gaunce needs to play with the Wolves for awhile and then give him a try. Looks like a good player so far.

EDIT: Prospects that will probably make it is: Gaunce, Mallet, Jensen, Schroeder, Cannauton and maybe Sweatt.

Gotta be honest. I think Gaunce is 3 years away from holding an NHL spot down. Unless we get desperate. But that's not a knock on him.

Since it got closed:...........

Some of you may be impressed by Brendan Gaunce's 20 goals and 36+ pts this season with the Belleville Bulls. In my opinion, whatever you may think, this is upsetting and truly a headshaker.

No offense, but 20 goals and 36 pts IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH for a 1st round player who is almost 19, with his team SECOND IN THE WEST. In my opinion, the guy should be leading the team in goals AND points. He is leading the team in neither category. He now has 38 pts and is FOURTH ON THE TEAM IN SCORING. Considering guys like Colin Smith (Kamloops, WHL) have almost 90 pts as a last round selections, Gaunce's production is attorcious and disturbing.

For a guy that led his team with 28 goals and 68 pts last year....this guy should be currently at 30 goals and 80 pts. Not happy with his production....being 4th on the team in scoring is not good enough and he needs to do something else to better himself and prepare for playing for the Vancouver Canucks organization.

With this being siad, I'm ecstatic that the Canucks organization is committing itself to further study on CHL players, and especially those who are involved in the Western Hockey League. FINALLY. Thank god, since the CHL is where the best players honestly come from.
