I would definitely do that from an oilers perspective
would you take eberle instead?
As has been repeatedly established, the only Oiler that interests the Coyotes when it comes to Oliver Ekman-Larsson is Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and even then they'd have to think about it. So no, the Yotes are not interested.
I don't think there's anything wrong with saying Hall is the least talented of the Oilers big-4 (at forward), but that doesn't mean he's the worst hockey player. I don't think many Blackhawk fans would deny that Kane is more talented than Toews, but most Hawk fans would argue that Toews is a better hockey player.
I've personally never been much of a fan of Hall, but I like him more than Yakupov.
The people who claim to not like hall would be crap-your-pants ecstatic over how much offence hall creates and how he tilts the ice with his speed and determination, if he played for your team. He's a one man breakout and zone entry machine.
Hes the least talented of the 4 and Yakupov can make Hall look like he has hands of stone at times. What kind of return would he get if the Oilers move him in say the next couple years? We all know the Oilers wont be able to afford all 4, id say past 3 seasons at the most.
Actually, I'd say he's the most talented of the 4. More scoring chances created and fewer given up when he's on the ice...than ANY of them. By quite a bit. He and Hemsky are in a league of their own there.
Eberle's the guy to cash in on when his stock is high, cuz Hall is clearly head and shoulders above the rest, RNH is a centre which we NEED, and Yakupov likely has more skill than Ebs.
Some people just can't handle the Oilers have 5 of the most promising young players in the league (especially on a prospect forum) and they take it out on the fans of the Oilers. No, I am not boasting about my team I am speaking the truth. It's sad and pathetic.
Taylor Hall is underrated, if anything. Guy gets **** on all the time and he, along with Gagner and J. Schultz have been our 3 best players this year. He might very well have the least talent of the 4 forwards. Who cares? He produces and he adds something dynamic that about 25 other teams in the league don't have. We're very happy with him here and he will not be traded anytime soon.
The Oilers have quite to bunch of potential stars. My problem with most of the trade proposals is that most expect too much in return.
In short, your 4 young guns are still, for lack of a better term, "prospects", and still developing. Asking for superstars in return just isn't realistic.
Prospects? Yeah that Eberle is still a prospect with 76 points last year and 34 goals is a prospect
And who asked for a superstar in return? I didn't see Malkin, Stamkos, Crosby listed in any proposals.
Yes, Hall plays a north/south game but he plays it on the outside. He races up the boards and doesn't cut in on the D choosing the perimeter each time.. Bob Stauffer(Oilers Color Guy) thinks they move Hall to center next year. This would be better for hall as he would have to use his speed in the middle of the ice
