One would think...
No thanks. Not much interest in MPS and I expect one of Strome/Nino to be on Tavares wing.

My guess is the Islanders are looking at Hemsky if its anyone at all.

Skilled playmaking RW who can play with Tavares now (not someday) and is off to a decent start.

Is there some reason why Visnovsky is so opposed to just playing like 25 games in Long Island? What's the problem?

Can Reasoner still win faceoffs? All I want is someone who can win a face-off.

My bad, Im a jets fan, I thought he was still RFA. In that case, yeah I wouldn't do it if I'm the Isles.

Come on. Nino is quite obviously the better and more valued player .

My guess is that when Snow says he's sticking with his youth movement and uses cap tricks like the Vis salary and the Thomas contract, that Snow really is working with a tight budget. One where he'd rather pay Strome or Nino $900,000 in base pay, then pay Hemsky $5m.

Maybe.
Depending on certain financial concerns, exactly this type of deal may be something Snow would get the green light to make.

Maybe...

Possible....
Could see something around
Gagner and Hemsky + for niño and Reinhart +

The Islanders would be stupid to just give up Reinhart like that.

Nino I can get because the guy has come out and requested a trade and the Oilers happen to have his Swiss coach there who's probably motivating the GM to go make a pitch.

So that makes some sense at least.

Niño to edmonton makes some sense. I could see involved in a package.

I can see Hemsky going to LI.

Islanders won't deal Reinhart. They won't deal Tavares, Strome, Nelson, etc.

Oilers won't deal any of their young core players.

Nino I could see being available only because of the trade request, despite them saying he wasn't going to be moved.

I honestly have no idea what a deal based around Nino would look like though to be fair to both teams.

My guess is Reasoner and Striet

I dont know who NYI would need from the Oilers

Maybe im off base but be something like

From Oilers:
Hemsky, Whitney, B prospect, 2/3rd round pick

From NYI
Reasoner, Streit, el Nino

Hard to value guys from NYI since I dont see them that often

Ofcourse people will say that their is no comparison between El Nino and Brule, but there were a lot of happy Oiler fans when that 1st trade went down. Maybe this set of magic beans will turn out better than the last one, but I think we have enough project players that we shouldn't really be looking for more at the cost of already productive members of the team.

Why in the hell would the Islanders do this? Not a fan of either team but some of these proposals from EDM fans are hilarious

You mean the proposal made by Jets from Winnipeg? That is who you are quoting.

I'm sorry but Eklund needs a lot more than one good call out of a thousand to get me to listen to him on a regular basis.

lucky to get a 6th for Reasoner.

Right now the OKC Barons are carrying 3 goaltenders, I can see a trade evolving Khabibulin, Hemsky, and Whitney. I wouldn't mind the Oilers going after Brock Nelson or Okposo, but pass on Reasoner or Streit. Belanger is back the next game and VV didn't look too bad against the Wings.

Watched the Baron game yesterday, and it sounds like Peckham has been back on his cheese burger diet and weighs around 250lbs, I don't think he's going anywhere soon, unless he losses 20-30lbs.

Yep, has everything to do with "magic beans" and absolutely nothing to do with having 3 highly skilled RW (IMO Yak look lost at times trying to adjust to LW and needs to go back to RW), all of which play a finesse game lacking grit. NN is a gritty player with size and speed that could be a nice compliment on the LW across from Yak. Or maybe the offence doesn't develop and he is more of a bottom 6er. Either way he'd bring more grit to the line-up.

Hemsky has looked great some games, average in others, but we have guys that contribute in similar ways. The only guy we have like NN is Harti, and I think El Niño is better.
