the team needs more of an offensive threat from the defense, he's not much of a threat, this team needs another d-man with a good slap shot.

I think when Mez gets back healthy we will be fine on D. He has a nice shot from up top and he can pinch very effectively etc.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The defense has been fine and unless we have an opportunity to add some offense to the blueline, I don't think we should change anything.

I agree with you ! Our D is playing pretty damn solid Hockey in my view. They have their moments certainly, but nothing to worry about at this time unless another injury comes along.....

Agreed.
However, I'm not sure what to expect from a player who had to undergo back surgery, archilles tendon surgery, and now a dislocated shoulder all within more or less a year.
His skating is affected a little as well as his slapshot I guess and mobility and upper body strength may also not be the same for a while...

Pass. The defense has not been an issue for the most part. Foster has been pretty bad at times, but Gervais has been fine as a bottom pairing guy. I don't see the need to bring in a guy like Petrecki at this point. If Mez (or someone other than Gervais/Foster) is out for good at some point, then I think I'd rather have someone better than Petrecki. I wouldn't mind getting someone to replace Foster at some point as the 7th D-man, but I can live with him on a limited basis for now.
