2 times... #scheifeledown...

If that kid gains another 10-20 lbs and does power skating over the summer it will be a very fun and interesting battle for the other top6 C spot between Scheifele and Burmistrov

Hahaha! Scheifele dangled his way around a couple of defenders to the front of the net, and tried to stuff it home on a PP. Didn't work, so he angrily shoved the net off it's moorings after the whistle was blown.

Zach Hall scores on a beauty backhand feed from Scheif from behind the net. 1G 1A for Scheif so far. Game's tied 3-3.

Kosmo scores again; gets the go-ahead goal late in the game!

EDIT: Ahhh, Murphy just tied it with less than a minute left! Good game.

Scheifele with a goal tonight. Colts trailing Saginaw 4-2 with 18m left in the third. That's his 24th of the year.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Lowry, Kosmachuk, Olsen, and Scheifele all pot 30+ goals...

Definitely probable . Long shot is Scheifele and don't think he will have an issue reaching that number.

Lowry is going to be a beauty that's for sure. Gump, you seem to follow him more than most, what path do you think this guy will take to the NHL? Im hoping he's there in two years and when he's there I hope he becomes a Lucic type player, is that too tall of an order?

I think next year depends upon his foot speed and strength at camp. He could even make the team out of camp theoretically in my view if he works out like a madman this off-season and the footwork is there. The Jets do have a ton of expiring UFA contracts so a spot could be there for the taking. A Lucic or a Getzlaf type of long-term future is possible as a best case scenario... a well rounded power forward in other words, but at times he reminds me of Joe Nieuwendyk as well, he has a big rangy wingspan and can use it down low. He could also score at a surprising rate eventually, ya never know.

I'm sure early in his career we'll see him play quite physically regardless as coaching will just require him to take the man with regularity and to play responsibly as a rookie... whenever he makes the team that is. I'm most looking forward to that period because one aspect of his game that rarely gets mentioned here is that he is capable of throwing multiple devastating hits per game, and he is one big dude.

Sweet thanks!
Gump you think he's going to be more of a winger or centre when he makes the bigs?

Well, last year I would have said winger for sure as he was more of a banger then on the wing, but at centre now he looks amazing with the additional ice surface to work with. I swear, at times he looks like Getzlaf did in junior - that powerful and dominating down the middle.

Having a gigantic beast down the middle would sure be nice in Winnipeg, but it all depends now upon his footspeed at the next level. His wheels will dictate his future. I actually think he is a better skater than his rep; he gets open often, with regularity. Would love to see him play center if the stems can keep up.

I recently heard Adam say the player he models his game after is Ryane Clowe (not sure where i heard it) which would be nice for us......Clowe is big power forward that usually scores 20 goals and fetches 50 points.

I am very bullish on Lowry but will wait to see what he does at camp and in St John's next year because the jump to the pro level can be humbling.

I am curious to see how much weight he can effectively put on his 6'5" frame?

Being rather unimpressed with Pasquale right now, I am asking the gurus in here who might be challenging for a spot on the Caps roster next season

Another thing I like about Lowry is his on-ice IQ. He always makes the correct decision with the puck, head-mans it unselfishly, can make good decisions at speed.

Battles hard. On the pp he'll park his giant ass in front of the goalie when the D is controlling up high, and he really battles to keep position there. Can score garbage goals and can snipe as well. He has a bright future, whenever he makes it.

Scheifele finishes with 1g 1a in a 5-3 loss to Saginaw. Has already jumped back up into the top 25 in scoring after missing all that time for the WJC and with the Jets.

PS: he's 3rd in PPG behind only Galchenyuk and Strome, at 1.66 vs 1.74 and 1.85

Just noticed this on the game sheet:
Quote:
3 - BAR M. Scheifele, 18:46 - Slashing, 2 min (PP)
3 - BAR M. Scheifele, 18:46 - Misc-USC, (75.4) 0 min
