So we get beaten by Boston that pretty much made Komiserk a shell of himself.
Since then we've had 2 GMS and 3 Coaches and nothing changes!!!!
You don't think every NHL team is watching this and laughing that it's the same old Habs!
Now Bergiven... What are you prepared to do about it??
Therrien sad the wold be read to play tonight after losing the opener, guess he was referring to the leafs, been a habs fan for ver 45 years, this is a new low for me. To small, not near enough toughness, and worse yet nothng on the farm system to help with any of the current problems. Wh sign Armstrong, why 4 year contract for Moen, why Bouillon when we need size, why not Robinson for defensive coach, why Daigneault? Way to many problems carried over from last year, no playoffs again. Sad state of affairs.
Was watching this game in NY after the Isles loss ( Isles..Loss... its like death and taxes) and i was disturbed usually the team on the losing end might pull some cheap sh** but that was a disgrace. I don't know much about McLaren but that was a awful display laughing during the fight. I hope you guys return the favor the next game! Orr trying to fight Gionta and then suckering Borque wtf??? Again this is from a Islander fan with no skewed view. I really truly hope you call up every goon next game vs them and laugh when someone knocks out McLaren!
This game felt a bit like the Boston beatdown, this might lauch us on a long losing streak. This team will have lost all confidence it had built at the beginning of the season.
That was false confidence. Teams know they can zero in on the lack of size, and the amount of wussies on this team, and dominate them. It just took them a few games to target Montreal's usual weakness, and now they all are all on the bandwagon.
Hammer the small blueline, bully the smurf forwards..and hey.. why not? It works, and it's a great tactic. I'm more curious to see of Bergevin will back up his big talk about building a team around his ideals, and not this disgusting bunch of forwards that Bob Gainey got on a layaway plan.
Just coming to note something, you guys should really cover Gallagher, he's one of my favourite NHL prospect along with Gally. Man I thought maybe Colby would have some balls after getting bought out and play well against us but it was sad to see. I love Gally and Brendan glad to see them doing well there but Brendan and gorges really seemed like the only one who gave a crap for you guys tonight Imo. Cya on Feb 27th, should be hell.
Edit: found it odd that Therrien didn't call out a timeout as well. Didn't like that signing but seriously didn't expect that.
NOW comes the fun part. This is starting to be interesting. Therrien's got his first test. Will he react the right way or look like the old Therrien?
6-0 AT HOME against the Leafs is the worst loss in YEARS.
You should re-read my post. I am not happy that Moen and Armstrong didn't do anything while Gallagher and Gorges fought, and Bourque got knocked down by Orr. I'm not asking Bourque to fight. I'm asking for guys who DO fight to go after people after Bourque took a sucker to the chin.
For all the talk about toughness..The Leafs didn't start taking liberties until it was already a blowout. The Leafs didn't show toughness, they showed the same cheap dirtbag play that characterized Caryle's Ducks team, with less talent.
The problem with this team is it's not good. Desharnais, Cole and Pacioretty is useless when it's not getting spoonfed offensive zone starts. Gionta is a headless chicken. Our brilliant coach uses FRANCIS BOULLION on the power play.
I thought Pacioretty was pretty solid. Among the few good forwards tonight (Galagher, Eller, Galchenyuk, Pacioretty) he gets the lowest grade but I thought he was able to handle himself much better than his two line mates. And then somehow got ejected early for getting bit by a pineapple eater.
We dominated in the second and even most of the third before the fighting.
If we score goals, this kind of stiff doesn't happen.
For those saying that we need a heavyweight, this is the first night when I kind of feel like it makes sense BUT I assure you the leafs are too gutless to fight anyone their size. People saying that gorges is embarrassing need to realize that Gorges didn't pick Mclement. He was furious about the attempt on Plekanec. What would YOU do in that situation? Back down? Leafs are f'in cheap.
As is being discussed on Antichambre currently:
and so does Desharnais.
If Therrien is serious about no excuses, it better be Eller (who was one of our best tonight) centering Patch and that POS 72.
Overall, it was just the worst game ever and a lot attributed to horrible luck/inability to finish. I am most p'd about about. Leafs finishing was exceptional and on a great goalie.
