It's probably just the reporter taking the rumors on the web yesterday and trying to make it sound like he's got a scoop...

man, this is the third straight day we've had Poti's name come up. I'm starting to fear that rumour.
if ever Poti comes in montreal, Souray is definitely getting traded. not that that's what I want, don't get me wrong...but why would Gainey sign a D, if he's not looking to trade one. doesn't make sense IMO. D is not our biggest concern, offense is.
Gainey signs Poti, one D is surely gone (rumour is Souray)

I also heard this on the radio this morning. So let me get this straight, this originated from something Michel Villeneuve DIDN'T say and has now taken huge proportions? This is ridiculous.

Reminds me of that Marc Denis three-way trade of a long time ago. That one was randomly made up with that prospect guy there involved in the trade (I forget who it was, Dan Fritsche maybe?) as supposedly the source on a message board.

That one sure took off, so no surprise this one would either.

With the internet these days, it really isn't that suprirsing. I bet anyone of us could get one started. Just post it in enough places around the net and watch it snowball. I've considered doing it , just to see if I can do it but I'm too lazy.

Should we expect Bob's Blackberry message rumour to end up in the papers tomorrow then? Seriously, if there's one thing I've learned on HF, it's that the media put zero effort into verifying their sources. It's pathetic.

Absolutely. Like I said last night, Villeneuve was hosting his 110% show and never ever did he mentioned that rumor that he was suppose to have started the same morning.....

But if Gainey does go in the Rangers' way, I sure hope he starts and stops at Sykora, let the Sens have Poti.

But the ''Entre les branches'' does reassure me a little.....

So who want to start another rumor to end this one......

Didn't you guys hear about the possible Ovechkin for Duncan Milroy trade???

When I was younger and just got connected to the internet...I believed I could start a snowballing rumor that Wayne World 3 was going to start production by going on various message boards and chat rooms, so that the rumor would get so out of proportion, that the producers would hear about it and consider it.

Yes, I was very naive at that age, but I loved Wayne and Garth that much

Sykora would not suprise me, esepcially if he really tried to trade for him last season before he went to the Rangers. Poti on the other hand would not really interest me unless of course as mentioned we are trading another D and we receive some good offensive help in return. The big thing with Poti it that I always thought he was suppose to be an offensive dman like his 48pt in 02-03 showed. But in his last two season he has about that combined.
