Vancouver is tied for 2nd highest Stanley Cup favourite.

Go put your money where your mouth is if you think otherwise.

Luongo will be traded to the Panthers at the trade deadline. End of story. 10 years remaining on contract and very small market for a #1 caliber goalie. NHL history has shown throughout, that when you have a huge contract, the GM trying to trade that contracted player away, will lose out almost every time. Gillis has to come to grips that he will have to give up something good besides Luongo himself, to get that contract and Luongo drama out of Vancouver.

Why would Luongo want to go to the Panthers at the deadline when he could stay on a contender like Vancouver?

Gillis will have to give up a good piece + Luongo for nothing substantial in return to get him out of Vancouver?

Or he could just put him on waivers and watch 10 teams put a claim in.

Think before you post.

So Gillis now has to trade Luongo and himself?

To Florida;

Luongo

Gillis

To Vancouver

Huberdeau

Tallon

Clemmenson.

I think Canucks get burned in this one.

Why would we trade him at the deadline instead of in the offseason? I'd much rather have the insurance of two great goaltenders than a medley of useless parts, if that really is the best offer.

Luongo has little to no value.

Really?

One wonders why Tallon would intimate talks are ongoing if Luongo had "no" value?

EDM is ever present. CLB contacted VAN at the draft. CHI was there. TML was there for a long time. Are you actually contending that the GMs of these teams went into talks because Luongo had _no_ value? Why did they want him at any point? If he had not value because of a supposed albatross contract, why inquire about him at all?

Logic RR. Logic.

Time to shut this one down.

If we leave it open long enough, there might actually be a trade and everyone can claim they were right.
