Mine:
Strome + 1st for Bobby Ryan
Stome and Niederreiter for Kessel?

Maybe Hemsky would interest you then (with Oil eating salary)? El Niño in return?

I doubt Snow building with homegrown talent, considers 1 and 1/2 yrs of Hemsky worth 5 and 1/2 yrs of Nino. Because of how long till each player is a ufa and because Nino's base salary is only $900,000.

Are the Oilers interested in a short term pickup? Cause Streit for Oscar Klefbom helps both teams.

Kessel's had one great season. He is not the best offensive RW in the game. You should try watching some Chicago games, some Tampa games. St.Louis and Kane are both more talented offensively than Kessel and Perry and Hossa are better all-round players.

Kessel is an elite skater and shooter. He's among the most talented RW's in the game. But he is not the most talented.

Nino or Nelson or Strome or Kabanov. Honorable Mentions: Ullstrom and Persson.

IMO Isles will use trade chips on a defender and promote from within up front. Possibly deal for a goaltender as well, depending on whether or not Nabokov is re-signed.

Snow really is genius, conjuring these Nino and Viz scenarios.

Part of good asset management is finding creative ways to stockpile your AHL team. Bringing prospects on intentionally slow allows for the perception the farmhand needs more seasoning. Being left with a veteran playing the hold-out game is another convenient way to open a roster spot and add interesting young players via the waiver wire.

We look bad because we're setting limits here organizationally that ultimately help us.

Unless you are drinking the haters' kool-aid, anyone can see with the Islanders current and prospective talent, there's something special happening again on Long Island.

It's almost time.

The islanders will make the playoffs this year.

I always pull for the Islanders. They're the Oilers of the east. Same colour scheme and everything.

I'm excited for the day we meet in the Stanley cup.

Is Radim Vrbata available? If so what would he cost? Always had a soft spot for him and he can put up really good numbers without a number 1 center in Phoenix. Maybe playing with JT can bump him up to the next level.

As long as it's the results from 1980-1983 seasons.

Tough one. Who can Garth Snow find that fits under Wangs cap. Not many $12 a year 30 goal men out there.

Isles are way too erractic a team, to trade away their first and a possible chance at Jones/MacKinnon.

When the Thomas trade was announced, I thought he'd been aquired because 37 yr old Nabby is being overworked imo. Cappy shows no faith in playing DiPietro.

The Isles value Nino very highly, the only scenario that'll he be moved in would be for an established NHL talent signed to a long term deal.

While Hemsky is a proven top six winger, he is not signed to a long term contract and has been an injury concern the last few years.

I think David Jones could be a decent fit there.

Agree, and I think the Avs would consider a package with Reinhart,
or one of Donovan, Mayfield, or de Haan, (+) the + being mainly a PK forward.
Avs also have Kobasew, O'Brien, Zanon, Hunwick on roster to work with in a package.

Isles would not give Parentau a 4 yr, big money deal last summer. Isle fans speculate, it's because they'd rather have one of their kid take that spot and didn't like the term.

Why would they turn around months later and give Jones with his 4 yr/$16m contract, similar $ and term they felt was too much for PA ?
PA I think outscored Jones, in each of the past two seasons.

Isles are not looking for depth trades or to move their recent lottery picks in depth trades.

Meh, bump down Moulson and put Bailey on JT's left wing. I have been begging for Cappy to pair them up for over a year now, I think they could be real special together.

Really? If I were a superstar, I'd love to play in Brooklyn. I'd hate to play on Long Island far away from the heart of NYC.
