It's his fourth game, and his fourth point.

edit: fourth point in 4 games, not 3 in 3 my bad.

Hmm, shows how much I care about MTL. Still want him nowhere close to the Jets.

Subban's a top three defensemen on almost any team in the NHL. Not sure why you dislike him. Anyways, Markov is the number one defensemen there..when he is healthy that is.

Terrible attitude. Terrible positionally. Teammates dislike him. Can't think the game of hockey.

Vastly overrated since he is a good skater. His only redeeming quality. Creates chances due to that, but I want his personality nowhere close to the Jets considering what he brings to the table is not even close to off-setting that (2nd pairing offensive D) and his skillset is exactly where the Jets are already the strongest. Keep him MTL, have fun with that.

Florida trades 2007 10th overall pick, defenseman Keaton Ellerby to LA for a 5th round pick.

Nice add. Really nice add, for the price.

Really would like to know more detail on his current play. He obviously isn't playing like a 1st rounder, but was a 5th true value?

6'4", 24 year old, Left Handed D. Does he play physical?

15 hits in 9 games played. His statline reads:

9GP, 0G, 0A, -2. With an average of 15 minutes TOI.

Looking at advance stats:
Mostly top6 matchups
Dead even 50% zone starts
Being beaten pretty bad, but is above team average even with usage being average difficulty for team

He had a decently solid 2010-11 year and was good in the playoffs last season (for the 1 game he played lol)...
He's had better possession stats than the team average every season so there looks to be some promise.

Definitely a Clitsome upgrade if we had him... I would have been happy throwing a 5th round for that... but then when Bogosian and Byfuglien return we'd probably have to send down Redmond or trade one of Redmond, Postma or Ellerby

Thanks Garret. Seemed like a guy that some Panther fans were split on (should he get more of a chance vs. not). Like you said, looks like an upgrade on Clitsome, but Redmond and Postma kind of affect a pick up such as this.

Sounds like Mitchell and Greene might both be done for the season according to some reports over on the Kings board so this move makes sense.

LA is off to a tough start and are picking up all the injuries to the back end that they avoided last year.

Mitchell has been cleared by the doctors to resume playing...and that was weeks ago. He says his knee still doesn't "feel" right. So no timetable on the return, but it's pretty unlikely he misses the whole season, IMO.

Greene is going to be a while yet.

Kings D right now would be comparable to WPG if Hainsey and Stuart were out indefinitely (but Buff and Bogo were in) and Redmond had been lost on waivers...so yeah Ellerby will add some nice depth.

Does GCL via PS3 / TV look as good as HDTV? Kinda waffling as to whether or not I should get NHLCI/GCL/nothing

That was nasty. Couple dirty spears this game. Pretty decent game for two teams not overly fond of eachother.

Wow just noticed this!!
http://www.behindthenet.ca/nhl_stati...34+45+46+63+67

Not one single Kings forward has a negative possession number. EVERY forward is out-chancing their opponent on average...
Unfortunately though Quick doing his best impression of Pavelec

Happens to a lot of teams. It takes some of the cheating out of the faceoff circle. Use your stick or skate, gentlemen.

Was Myers a healthy scratch yesterday? I was going to post something about Myers struggles earlier in one of our Burmistrov discussions for some perspective.
