Clarke MacArthur
back to back 20 goal seasons as a Leaf.
UFA next season.
doesn't fit the lineup now.
when healthy
Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR - Grabo - Kulemin
Komarov - Kadri - Frattin
what would his worth be?
pick? player? part of a package?

Is switch JVR and Komarov in your lines.
But yea, he doesn't really fit in anymore

I'd be surprised if they don't try Lupul - JVR - Kessel like they talked about in the off season..
JVR has been great for us.. working well on any line he's been on.

I think his value would be a 2nd round pick + a minor league player for the marlies. I don't think his value is a 1st, but if he picks up his production his value could go up.

Yup I agree. He's been tremendous. Looked his best on the Kadri-Frattin line imo

2nd rounder
Can put up decent points when put in an offensive role but overall not a very tough player to play against.

Nope. Not only is Mac>Umberer, but he's cheaper and less expensive.
I'd do MacA for CBJ 2nd + a meh prospect

Last year Brian Burke was offered a first round pick for MacArthur. Let's hope Dave Nonis gets the same offer this year.

CBJ 3rd and 5th and Savard (D) for MacA.
I'll even throw in a bowl of Chili if the CBJ score 3 goals in a game this year.
BTW: Is it better if a player is cheaper? Or less expensive? Or cheaper AND less expensive?

They'll probably get a 2nd and kick themselves for not taking the 1st last year. Although this draft is deeper supposedly.

I'd trade him for Savard straight up.

Bruins would give up a 2nd + a mediocre prospect (Bartowski, Krug, Cross?)
EDIT: Why is Columbus giving up picks for a UFA?

Shouldn't you guys be collecting picks/prospects not buying 3rd line wingers at the deadline?

as opposed to cleaner/more expensive and... more expensive?
i think the Leafs could get a 2nd for him, and that's being generous. how much can you really get for someone like him? a pending UFA winger that has fallen out of favor on his current team (role-wise)?

I didn't believe that at the time, and I don't believe that now. Burke kisses the Blarney Stone on this one.

I'd do that.
And I meant younger + less expensive

I think he ends up on Nashville, Minnesota or Phoenix at the deadline. All borderline playoff teams, cap conscious (he's expiring) who could use some help up front.
2nd round pick + mid pick/prospect is the most we could expect I think.

I'd trade Mac + a depth D for a 17-23 ranked 1st.
All contenders will be looking for more D near the playoffs, especially with the schedule being so rigorous and the inevitable injuries that arise.
We have A TON of defenseman lol.
