I smell blowout win in this one.

12-0

Dubby with his first SO.

Yak with a 5 goal game, Hall and Nuge have pairs to break their slumps.

I mean, after yesterdays performance, they're probably all very well rested.

I don't think i'll bother watching any of the game. I can see the oilers getting two goals at best and Dubnyk giving up at least one weak goal.
they may scrape up a loser point. so say 3-2 jackets in ot.
oilers have shown nothing to me that says they will have a breakout game today.

what are the chances the oilers break the 35% mark in the faceoff circle today? ~sigh~ so many discouraging signs on this team.

I wonder if Tambi has found a new home Whitney or has Ralph just accepted the fact that #6 is no longer an NHLer.

I really hope I'm wrong and my spidey senses are just out of whack...
After NK's performance yesterday, that would lead directly to a goaltending controversy. Dubey will be alright.

No reason to think we will score 1 goal unless its a PPG from J Shultz
Jackets 2
Coilers 1

Eff I'd love to be wrong, keep wishing for a breakout game but could be "what we see is what we get"

I'd be all for trading our 1st for immediate help.

I think we have this one. Columbus plays like an Eastern Conference team, and I think we started finding our game against a much better team in Detroit yesterday. 4-0 Oil.

If however they start losing, they need to do something, I don't care what. Ebs needs to drop the gloves with Johanssen or something. Something to just get the team going.

Man the Oilers desperately need a couple of legitmate NHL d-men. We aren't going anywhere with Potter/Whitney/Peckham in the line-up every night. Especially when the other bottom guy is Fistric who lets be honest... is a decent bottom pairing guy, but not good enough to make someone else better.

It's a popular term from people here in Vancouver too.

This is a game we should win. Not that that means much

I hope your right about the 4-0!
Gotta say, your positivity is refreshing. Most of the time I'm on here I feel like I'm in "road rage mode"

What does it even mean? I don't get it. I know what the word coiler means, not sure why it's a popular derogatory term for the team.

If Yak lights it up today it will be more due to him and J Schultz then Eberle and RNH right now who have been stone cold.

Seems like the org is doing everything in its power to try to get RNH kickstarted this year.

This is the free bingo spot on the calendar for the Oilers and always has been. Omark even owned this club.

If you can't beat Columbus its going to be a longer year than anybody thought.

Yeah, the Oilers should win today.

Think about what happens when someone drops a massive deuce. That's my guess anyways.

It's a great day when my two fav teams are playing each other. Guaranteed win for one of those teams. I prefer the game to go to OT so everyone gets points but I don't think it'll happen.

If the Oilers win....
5-3 Oilers end losing streak and finally gets it going 5 on 5.

Goals-Yakupov x2, Hemsky, Schultz(J), and Nugent Hopkins
Anisimov x2, and Dubinsky

If the Blue Jackets win....

6-2 Jackets take advantage of a tired team that played yesterday afternoon.

Goals-Anisimovx2, Dubinsky,Umberger, Tyutin, and Letestu
Yakupov and Schultz

Please no injuries

Sent down to the minors.
Blue Jackets suppose starting lineup from the O.P. and the Jackets board

Prospal-Anisimov-Letestu
Umberger-Brassard-Dorsett
Calvert-Dubinsky-Foligno
Gillies-MacKenzie-Boll

Johnson-Wisniewski
Tyutin-Nikitin
Erixon-Goloubef

Love the line combos. Also a big fan of Petry/Fistruck combo. Should give Petry a chance to do more offensively. I remember last season where Renney asked for more O from his D and Petry went beast mode, hopefully he does that again. If only we had a better option than Potter, hurry up Klefbom!

RNH needs to be taken off the 1st PP unit and Ales Hemsky put in his place. The kid is not creating anything and his patented cross-ice set-up to Eberle is being keyed on.

The first game Hemsky was there the puck movement looked the most fluid it's been in a few games and he set up Schultz for a goal.

Nuge has one second assist PP point all year. He has the most PP toi of any forward on the club.

Go figure.

Yeah, the Oilers should win today.
And then the post game thread will be filled with "See? Told you to relax" and "Told you guys to step back from the ledge"

All will be well in Oiler land if we manage to thump the mighty Blue Jackets.
