BOUCHER RECALLED; LEIGHTON TO IR
The Flyers announced that they have recalled goaltender Brian Boucher from their AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms.
Leighton has appeared in 4 NHL games (including playoffs) since Game 6 of the 2010 Stanley Cup final. He has a goals against-average of 4.12 (9 GA in 189 minutes) and an .896 save percentage in those 4 games.

LOL. I like how the Leighton supporters seem to think no other backup goaltender would put up better numbers then that
It's like Homer knew Leighton would suck and brought Boucher back after accidentally signing Leighton to the one year deal LOL!
You think Leighton and Boucher are fine backup goalies? One would argue the Flyers have the worst backup goaltenders in the league. They could of had oh say Montoya for 250k more or so.

What made you gather that conclusion? I think they both suck but Boucher sucks less. The whole thing is a joke.

i consider sucking to be an upper body injury. so this makes sense
i'm right there with you
glad to hear Boosh is coming up. he's not good like at all but he's a great locker room guy. i really hope when he decides to hang it up he gets a job within the organization.
Hopefully Boosh plays Winnipeg, gets a shutout, and we never see Leighton again. Then Boosh can retire and become a coach or something and we can sign someone competent or bring up Heeter or something.
While I am not the biggest Michael Leighton fan, I am still appreciative of his time with us in 2010. I also think he is a hell of a company guy and probably not hurt, which allows Boosh to step in. I think Boosh is the better of two, but I wouldn't be surprised if we sign Esche (based on the Flyers lockout article) if Boosh sucks. Holmgren takes care of old Flyers. I hope Boosh plays well in his chance.
