A 2nd line center (60Pts /82 GMS)...not a 3rd line overpaid center (40Pts)....
That's what he's payed to play...
That is absurd. Richards is everything you want from a second line center and he is worth every dime. He's actually underpaid cap wise in todays market. Let's not forget the little things he does for the team, like win all of his battles and win the Kings a cup. Teams win with a guy like Richards and guess what, Richards has won everything, everywhere.

It's just mind boggling isn't it ?
Yes Richards started slow, Yes he got rightly criticized for that.

You realize he's like a whopping two points off that pace after being the most rusty/out of shape player coming in right? Seriously, he's tied for second place on the team in points, if you want to trash guys on this team for not playing-up to their contracts, you can do that with just about everyone right now.
Richards is currently tied for the lead in points on team with Five.
What are you guys wanting from the guy.
Cause if your expectation was Richards was going to come in and lead the team in scoring every year.....Well no wonder you're angry.
What should concern people on the whole is, the Kings as a team are a minus.
You are not going to win hockey games giving up goals, and not scoring.
And Richards is 3rd in Kings scoring (Clifford & Kopitar have 6Pts) and has 1G in his first 10 games played this season.
And guess which forward has the most minuses this season and a bad FO%...
The powerplay was perfectly fine. They generated numerous chances, but Howard shut them down.
If you mean perfectly fine at not producing, then you're correct. They have to produce. Saying Howard shut them down isn't going to cut it when we are 27th in the league, .01% away from 28th. With our talent, this should not be happening. Nearly half of the league is twice as successful as we are. We fired Kompon, there should be no more excuses, we have to produce.
We are right back down to where we started last season, bottom 5 in the league in scoring, except our defense is much worse, and is now bottom 10. They looked better today, but that is only going to go so far. We are now 20% into the season... Need to capitalize on our opportunities and stop giving up untimely goals (especially early and late in games).

He needs to get better ASAP.
Kopitar is not on pace for 60 points in a 82 game season....Where is rant on him ?
Drew has ZERO goals in 10 games, he is paid more than Richards to put the puck into the net.

If they keep generating chances like that, they will produce. Everyone here is reading so much into small sample sizes of any number of things. I would be much more worried if the powerplay wasn't even generating chances like the beginning of the season.
Good effort, but bad result. Between this and getting schooled in the Nashville game, it was the wakeup call I think they needed to get over Cup hangover. I wouldn't change anything for tomorrow except have Bernier give Quick a rest.
Not that it really matters considering the Kings tied it up and had plenty of other chances to blow the Wings out, but I was curious when I saw it live and on replay...
Some of the mentioned get criticized a lot on here (Brown), while others (Richards, Williams) never..
Richards has been criticized plenty. The start of the season everyone hated on him and it made sense cause he sucked. But he's been fine now and has caught up in the point totals.
And is this some sort of criticism scale where it all must be evened out? No one is scoring goals. You can't just point to one guy and call him the problem when everyone else on the team has the same stats.

Yeah, I thought he might have been off sides when I saw it live/replay as well. Thanks for posting the picture.

By the time we get your sample size, we will be 50% into the season. The trade deadline is in less than two months, we need to be in a December mentality. We can't rely on unbelievable finishes.
I am not panicking, but the Kings need to step up and shut these games down. We are losing points right and left and "the lockout" and questioning their "game shape" is becoming a tired excuse. They had their 10 games to get ready, now it is time to perform, and do their jobs.
We are looking better as of late, but it isn't enough, they need to be playing their best hockey from here on out, we can't afford to dig ourselves into a hole we realistically can't dig ourselves back out of. Especially without a first round pick.
