Exactly. Scott would have to be throwing high hits at smaller skill players on the Bruins for Chara to go after him, and Scott isn't that type of person. He doesn't seem dirty to me at all, just a guy filling his role due to his size since it's the only way he has a chance at the NHL.
Exactly. John Scott is a big tough dude but he isn't Marty McSorley or Chris Simon in a sense hes going to cross the line.
When you win Norris Trophies and lead the league in time on ice you get to pick your battles. Sorry.
agree with you! Chara is in my opinion the best defenseman in the league. When your Norris trophy winning D-man also scares the **** out of opponents thats a scary combination..
Why would Chara fight Scott? What is it to him? John Scott is a useless hockey player and hopefully soon players like him will be a thing of the past
Worrell is an inch shorter than Scott. Hardly a size issue.
Chara won't fight Scott unless Scott starts taking major runs at Bruins players and starts injuring them or taking liberties with them. And that's perfectly fine since Chara plays over 20 minutes a night and doesn't need to take himself off the ice unless there's a good reason. Has nothing to do with Chara being afraid or scared of Scott.
For the record, I think Chara would beat Scott in a fight too.
He's smashing guys in the course of the game who can play the game. Just fighting Scott, because thats the only thing he can do makes no sense.
One clown playing 3 minutes a night hasn't done much for Buffalo's 'toughness,' acording to the standings.
this post says it all, and is also the way Lucic should play too, staged fights with some 4th line goon that a lousy team ices just for one purpose should be avoided for it is pointless
Here's an interesting situation that could happen, but with Scott's general suckiness, probably won't: Let's say Scott absolutely levels someone on the B's with a clean (or maybe just borderline hit).
The B's on the ice see one of their comrades down on the ice....
I hate Chara as much as the next Habs fan, but he's an elite level defenseman while John Scott's a plug. Chara knows that even if it would be a good tilt, it's detrimental to the Bruins to have him sit in the box for 5 min while all Buffalo has sitting in the box is John Scott.

What happens?
This team has shown over the past several seasons that they have each others backs out there. No way someone doesn't step up in this instance IMO
And it's great to have such a tough 1st line left wing and top pairing defenseman that everyone in the league wants to fight the goon of the month. If anyone fights Scott tonight, it will be Lane MacDermaid; and I think it will end with Scott winning again.
Every time I see one of these "No Excuses" avatars they're always posting something ridiculous.
While it would be fun to see, Chara will likely never have any reason good enough to fight Scott.
The No Excuses avatars make me chuckle too.
It does make me wonder what the reason is for the 6-1 shellacking Toronto put on them the other night (on the scoreboard and physically). I mean I guess there has to be a reason -- what with there being no excuses and all.
