STOP TRADING YOUNG PLAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, Other players we let go

Prospal - Became a very good player
Eaton - Become a solid defender
Vandemeer - Solid defender
Dipenta - Played a full season with Anaheim, solid #5-6 dman
Fedoruk - kept Brashear instead of him, played his but off for Anaheim and is one of their leaders
Rado - To be determined
Seidenberg - Still to be determined if he turns out to be anything.
Zubrus - Arguable, but he is a solid two way player

I think the defense would have looked a lot better having Eaton and DiPenta instead of Desjardone and one of the twin towers. Vandemeer basically could have doen what Gauthier brings to the table, although a little less nasty and a little more steady defensively.

None of these guys are superstars, but I am getting sick and tired of letting these young guys go. Let them develop, stop trading them or not resigning them.

I just dont feel this orgainization has the personnel in place to build a "team" especially in the new NHL.
Williams is the only player on the above list that I regret getting rid of. I understood the reason for the move but was still a big fan of his. Fodetenko was moved to get Pitkanen and I'd do that move 100 times out of 100, the no brainer of the century. None of the other players broke out at all, most of the dmen are 6th defensemen/borderline AHL'ers and had no spot on the Flyers.

I gave you Fedotenko, agreed there.

And while not top 4 guys, most of those defenseman are very good, steady defenders which is what this team needs. Propsal is the exact kind of player we are missing on the 2nd line.

I'm pretty pumped about that.

I would hate to see Gagne go, but if he wants to much money and someone is willing to give us picks, players, and/or prospects for him I'm all for it.

I wouldnt mind Hatcher being gone, but too bad everyone else we could have signed to help us is gone. With the defense we currently have, we cant afford to lose Hatcher unfortunately.

i'm not "trading" gagne... i'm not matching an offer that i feel is too rich for what he brings to the table. and i'm a HUGE gagne supporter around here. i'm not willing to give Gagne a 5 Million dollar multi-year deal when he's shown a definitive streakiness throughout his career... i'm just not. it's too risky.

i'd rather have 4 1st rounders to build with, trade with, whatever... than a potential bad contract on the roster for 4-5 years.

If this is true and I do not think it is.. 4 first round picks and sign Samsonov and if no one takes Sykora bring him too for a year.

4 1st round picks is simply great for a player like Gagne.

Remember to keep 1 thing in mind, Clarke and Gainey are very close friends and very doubtful he would offer Gagne an offer sheet. Trade now that is possible but do not see an offer sheet going out.

It'll be a trade if anything, hopefully around Markov.

Isn't Higgins a fair bit like Gagne anyway?!

We would, most definitely, need to sign Samsonov and either Sykora or Sanderson at least.

I thought the best part of that rumor was Hatcher selling his house and hopefully leaving.

Oh yes we could. Christ, I'd rather have Randy Jones or Alex Picard back there than Hatcher. He's about useful as teets on a bull and his play is lazy and uninspired. Kick him to the curb like the piece of human trash that he is.

Just curious, how are the Flyers going to dump Hatcher? How is it even possible? The buy-out period is over, correct?

I think there could be takers found for him, though we would have to take salary back with any such trade. 3.5 is a lot for him, but if Pothier and Corvo each could get 2.5 as free agents, Hatcher's contract isnt so bad we cant find someone who needs some size and muscle on the blue line. Our problem is that we have two (or three if you count Gauthier) big slow defensemen, but every team could still use one big guy like that.

Maybe Hatcher's just moving!?!?

Who knows, I wouldn't mind him leaving...make room for Meyer.

As for Gagne, I would take 4 first rounders for him, that's big right there. Not to mention Markov would be worth it too.

As others stated, Nachbaur is full of ****. He's the one who said Niedermayer to the Flyers was "100%" last year. He's been wrong 100 other times, but that was the biggest one.

Yeah, a lot of those "rumors" were a lot more ridiculous than some of the stuff we get here.
