Vermette got a 2nd so Grabo would likely get a 2nd+prospect.

Wouldn't trade him. When he's on his game he's one of the best on the team.

^ Disagree

When on their game; I'd take Kessel, Lupul, JVR, Kulemin, Phaneuf, Gardiner, probably Liles (pre-concussion he was amazing) over him.

That being said he is a serviceable player and I wouldn't trade him unless we are:

a) Packaging him in a deal for a #1C
b) Not in a playoff spot at the trade deadline
or c) Believe Kadri can take his place and get a very good offer for him

We have a cupboard full of prospects, 3 scoring lines and a goaltender that is playing well beyond expectations. As a fan base we are finally getting what we wanted, playing the young guys over scraps like L.A.C.K. Let's enjoy it.
Well put.

Grabovski isn't going to be auctioned off. He fits right into Carlyle's system.

What teams could use him and what would they offer?
What abundance?

The only centers capable of an offensive role on our roster are: Tyler Bozak, Mikhail Grabovski and Nazem Kadri.

There are 3 top 9 center slots.

I think his value is much higher now. You have to factor in he now leads the league in bites.

I'd try to get Caps 1st for him. They need some top 6ers. Nonis would be praised, Burke would be forgotten.

Any reason why?

Kadri-Frattin can contribute some of their early success to Grabovski-Kulemin. When you have depth you have the ability to put players in positions where they can succeed. Why mess with success?

Paul Gaustad was traded for 1st.
Vesteeg got 1st+3rd.

Grabovski will easily get a 1st++.

Haha, that's what it took to get him when he had all of 9 points in 27 NHL games, and toiling away in Montreal's farm system. I imagine he'd fetch a bit more than that after he's proven himself as a legitimate 2-way 2nd line centre.

The Leafs are finally looking good at center? I know what we should do, let's trade our best center!

You got be kidding me, Grabo is so versatile, checking, defensive, speedy, shot, passing, this guy can do it all. Just keep him, it's not like we're in a messy cap situation.

Grabovski's price just went up, despite his innocence everyone thinks he needs to maintain his teeth to be as sharp as a shark's. That kind of oral care will have to be packaged with him now. Tooth brushes, paste, floss, mouthwash, and a file to chisel them razor sharp.

I expect nothing less then a first rounder+1 maybe 2 blue chip prospects.

Around the trade deadline some team is bound to bite.

A little size and nastiness would be nice too, I'd have zero problem trading Grabbo ++ for a #1 centre with size and an edge.

Pretty much this....

In a situation where you've got Tyler Bozak and Nazem Kadri as the other 2 centres, you're in no position to make a downgrade at the position.

I know there's been of talk in the past year about Komisarek to NYI, but they just weren't the best partners at the time.

This season though, with Komisarek playing better but still being scratched from a full Leafs D corps, i thought NYI would have more interest.
Maybe wouldn't have had to scour the waiver wire, or pull in Thomas just for cap comfortability.

A deal around Cammy? Cammy can fill in until Lupul comes back then you can have Cammy and JVR on the second line.

Grabovski has been playing really hungry this year and it shows out on the ice.

Would not trade him.

Nope, much rather have Grabovski, now and moving forward.

I honestly think Kadri makes Grabovski expendable. Come trade deadline, Grabovski should be moved for a first rounder and a prospect.
