I remember his monstrous hit on Gologouski last year in the same spot against the Pens... he would be sent down the next day

The beginning. Guy damaged his face. He wasn't a good fighter then and he just doesn't want to risk it now.

That being said, massive hit by kadri. Good for the kid being an impact after people were writing him off.

It looks worse than it was, because, Emelin, trying to avoid the hit, does a pirouette and puts himself in a bad position to absorb the hit. The hit ended up being a bit of a boarding play, but again, it was Emelin who put himself in the bad position, hence the reason it wasn't a penalty.

Think he got hit with a puck then beat up or something. That cage gives him extra confidence with the cross checks. For a guy with a broken face he sure likes to take runs at people, comfort of the cage probably helps. Aside from tat I've noticed he isa terrible skater and am happy he is top 4 dmen on the habs.

Pretty sure that was Paul Martin. Goligoski plays for the Stars, he was swapped for Neal 2 years ago.

explain ok.......

kadri could get run at too, that's all
you start hitting ppl hard you better keep your head up
certain players could be looking for retaliation, and it might not be emelin

it's a good think he didnt give him a concussion anyway

Kadri has played like that his entire career. And Kadri won't have to answer to any thug only guys of his size. A guy like Gorges should have fought him after that hit. Any guy like Prust touches him and you are going to have guys like Orr smoking smurf talent like Gally. Kadri is considered our skill - he is untouchable except to guys of his stature.

Love that part of Kadri's game. He doesn't run around trying to take people's heads off, but every once and a while he'll flatten a player.

So should Kadri not play a strong gritty hitting game that his coach wants because he's scared of retaliation from players?

no
being gritty and finishing your checks is fine
he just better be careful who he hits
esp. if he's going to take healthy runs at guys

remember komarov vs boston - big hit in the corner - he turtles when chara goes for him

Fans of other teams? We have enough Leaf fans that have called Kadri a bust.

I remember the hit, he didn't turtle at all, Chara just pushed him around a bit. What more could he do? He's not going to fight a 6'9 behemoth for a clean hit.

Fetisov kneed Clark just before that as well. Clark ended up missing several weeks after because of it.

Cant play in fear. Its been a long time since we had a team which earned respect with the black and blue bruises of its opponents. Our team has backbone under Carlyle and its awesome.

He hits like Tucker, he hits regularly but once in a while he destroys someone. Great hitter for his size, just like Tucker was.

Made a whole thread over a hit. Pretty rare for that to happen in hockey. This makes you guys look pretty bad lol. I mean that from a realistic point of view. Mods remove this if need be as some people might not see the common sense in what I'm saying.

Kadri smoked that guy. Look at the main board, big hits are threads all the time

I am quite surprised because a considerable part of the roster is the same. I guess a little well place youth an a coach's expectations can make that difference.
