This team has zero leadership. None, zip. As usual they stupidly do things in half measures. If they were going to turn the team over to the kids they should have done so and given one of them the captaincy.

Looks like the Kruger love fest is on the downward swing a bit.

I think everyone was hungover today thinking they could get away with it against last place Columbus.

It wasn't really a serious comment, chill out. It was just funny seeing the reactions after the the goal by maggie, then the win after being put on suicide watch a few minutes earlier.

Yep and it pains me to agree with this but it's true.
The Oilers look no better than they did last season and in fact, look worse IMO. At least there were games last season when the Oilers completely outplayed the opposition, haven't seen one yet this season.

I'd have thought Smyth would be filling the leadership void with Horc out. I'd have been wrong.

Yes. That way we can have no offense outside of Hall and Schultz.

"The Hart Memorial Trophy is an annual award given to the player judged to be the most valuable to his team."

Just engrave Devan Dubnyk on it right now.

Ever.
Then you shouldn't like Krueger. One thing that has not changed at all on this team from last year is the horrific line changes.

COLUMBUS did that.
They've been getting outshot for years now. The scoring chances were a bit closer, I would think. And yes, I still maintain that when two of your best forwards are struggling the way those two are it makes a huge difference. Let me make it clear though, I didn't say they would be a good team, just not the worst in the conference.

Turning point in that game was Eberle getting wallpapered. That definitely woke them up in the third.

Smyth needs to be Ryan Whitney and get a bird's eye view of the next game.

Tambellini needs to actually be proactive for once and move Hemsky and Ganger now while they have value for size.

We're not making the playoffs, take advantage of some team while you can. We can't build the entire roster with 1st round picks.

EDIT: Meant Tamby is an idiot sorry got messed up in some edits, lol.

This team has a lot of problems right now, but anyone who can't see, or is delusional enough from hatred, that Dubnyk is a top goalie in the NHL right now, and a true #1, is a moron. Anyone saying otherwise deserves to be on the ignore lists of everyone and not even taken seriously in any way possible.

Playoff experience is playoff experience IMHO and would be good for many of the kids, even if it's a first round exit. No team is ever has no chance, the eighth seed in the west won the first round last year and went to game 7 OT the year before

Smyth needs to sit a game or 2 his penalty's are selfish and are going to start to burn us. He owes Gagner and MPS a beer after that one.

Good god that was the ugliest full game of the year. Dubnyk absolutely stole the two points. We deserved to lose 8 to 2.

Nice to see Paajarvi get a big goal. Hopefully that gets him some confidence and he keeps going.

Ryan Smyth honestly should be in the pressbox. He is terrible, absolutely terrible and 3 stupid penalties.

Homestand coming up. This team needs to play a million times better then tonight to get some wins on it. Hopefully they get their act together against Dallas on Tuesday. We need to start a winning streak. A win is a win and I'm happy with the 2 points.

Stop saying this. That goal was not on Gagner. First of all it was a PP. Second he was all over his man to the extent he could be without taking a penalty. Third, whoever was in the middle of the ice (Hemsky?) made no attempt to close down the move to the slot even though he was right there. Fourth, sometimes the opponent just makes a nice play - a goal doesn't always have to be someone's "fault".

Your Gagner hate is putting you in some pretty "elite" company on this board.

Anyone else impressed with Nikita Nikitin?

Big, physical and mobile. Love to have him.

No way that should even be considered. I'd assume they got to Columbus around 9 their time, and they played at 6 the next day. That's a light travel schedule for back to back.
