Bryz has been great this year, but he looked really bad yesterday. He was able to fight through it which was awesome, but he looked very awkward it net

If last game was this seasons off game for Bryz, I guess I'll take it.

I don't think Bryz looked bad yesterday. The first goal was a horrible rebound but someone's gotta be on the guy there. 2nd goal, Skinner sniped it. I still don't know how he fit that in. 3rd goal, if Foster isn't there that's over the crossbar. Instead, it hits Foster and trickles in.

Someone should of had Tlusty but at the same time Bryz did leave the rebound in a dangerous spot. I agree with you on the other 2 tho, Great snipe by Skinner and once again a puck goes in off one of our own guys.

Can't blame Bryz for anything but the first goal and even that was a little unlucky, it just caught him on the toe.

i think that's a bit harsh.
a bad goal [arguably, maybe?] yes.

i hope this is his 'really bad' game, that means he has set a new standard for himself

Bryz always looks awkward and uncomfortable in every game and is probably one of the worst puck handling goalies in the league but he's been able to get the job done and make some big saves while allowing fewer soft goals which has been huge for the flyers this year.

I'd beg to differ, this season particularly. He looks in the zone more times then not.

I agree. His technique doesn't look silky smooth like Schneider or Campbell (prospect goalie for Dallas), but he gets to the shot lane on time and ready. His stance looks lower and more coiled and ready to explode, and his feet and recoveries look a LOT quicker this year. I'm pretty pleased, as our middle-of-the-road defense needs him to make first saves, as they will have no choice but to concede some shots.

he's let in 1, maybe 2, 'soft' / 'bad' goals this year & has looked sharp / comfortable / had great puck tracking / lateral movement all season.

i think you could not be any more wrong.

Yesterday I thought the rebound to Orr he let up was atrocious, but Grossmann has to do anything he can to get Orr off that puck. The first goal was a real bad screen. Perhaps he could've positioned himself better but come on Kimmo, move that guy! The Frattin tip in was again a defensive lapse. Bryz has bailed the guys out a ton of times this year and I think he is back in his all-star form.

He's been weaker in his last two games, but that will happen. The team needs to score more damned goals. It's the inverse of last year, and it isn't any less frustrating.

This year is worse because when Bryz lets in two he can't do anything to help the team regain the lead. At least last year when Bryz was shaky we could always count on a couple goals to get back into it.

The best defense is a good offense.

Yeah, last year it wasn't unreasonable to expect the team to put up 4 or 5 goals on any given night. This year if the opposition scores 1 goal there's a solid chance they'll win.

Haha, agreed. I was debating last night whether to make a new poll thread asking how many comeback wins we'll have this year. Whenever I watch a game I feel that if we're down by two goals, the game is already over.

Yeah he seems to be losing interest/focus a bit ...at least the last two games but he's still much better than last year. I mean at some point I think he's going to pull a Chechmanek if they don't provide more goal support. He already wigged out on G on the ice and told him to "calm down" ....flailing his stick and arms

It was right after a terrible PP sequence leading to a clear...and possibly a scoring chance against?

Can you blame the guy though really? It's bad enough watching their powerplay on TV, can you imagine how bad it is when you're behind them on the ice just anticipating an odd mad rush coming back at you?
