Gerbe to the Pens?

This idea occurred to me after reading/posting on the main board. Gerbe hasn't been doing well, at least in part due to system/Buffalo issues, and the Pens badly need a winger that's at least capable of showing up on a scoreboard next to Malkin (which should be one of those things even your grandma can do).

It seems to me that they could get Gerbe on the cheap, so are Pens fans interested, and what would Buffalo want for him?

Wouldn't take much. Take your pick of some 3rd round pick or something and I'd be happy.

Just need a Pens fan to chip in some interest now. Malkin and Neal would seem to be an ideal place for Gerbe to flourish. Neal is a good space-maker and Malkin eats up a ton of attention just by being Malkin. A line where he's very unlikely to be the focus of attention seems the perfect place for Gerbe to flourish.

I think Malkin and Neal need a Kunitz or Malone type that eats up space to give them more room to operate. Gerbe would be a better version of Boychuk but I don't see where he fits on the Pens.

Appreciate that he would come cheap, but I´d really rather not with more project wingers. All they seem good for so far is proving the grandma thing wrong.

He's 5'4 he could fit anywhere. Overhead compartment, carry on, that little pocket on the seat in front of you. Letang and a second should get it done.

intriguing... how about, as a counter offer, a 7th rounder in 2025?

2 Five Guy fries!? Tell you what I will drive him to Pitt for that and let you keep any stray bag fries that fall out. Glad we could get this deal done.

PS Geno's cheesesteak or I break Gerbe's legs on the drive down.

Yeah, a kid that shows he can score in the AHL and then comes to the NHL and does nothing but pass because he thinks he has to playing alongside Malkin and Neal. If Gerbe is a shoot first type at the NHL level, he'd likely do much better than Boychuk.

Having 6 freaking shots on net in 7 games in the NHL is weak as hell, especially when you have a ton of room when you're with Geno & Neal.

Edit: Seems like Gerbe isn't any better and holy crap, I forgot he was 5'5"

How about this for a trade...

To Buffalo - Dan Bylsma
To Pittsburgh - Lindy Ruff

So does Pittsburgh.

Easiest trade ever made on this boards?
