I think Reasoner would be a good, cheap pickup to help on faceoffs.

Last year there was a fun battle betwen Eklund and incarcerated bob for a few days

He's good in the Faceoff, but that's it, Oilers are not that desperate.

Yea, but it would have to be temporary. The Oilers aren't a great faceoff team in general, but the stats are skewed by a ton of the centers being injured.

Reasoner's a ufa this summer. So, yeah it would be a temporary move and since it would likely just cost a late pick, it would also be a cheap move.

He's not better than anyone in Nashville.

Maybe if you had center ice and weren't drinking the blue and orange kool-aid, you'd realize that he's more of a big-fish in a small pond.

Is was known that last year and at the draft a lot of teams had interest in Gagner. He has 13 points in 12 games and is only -1. He is also only 23 yrs old. Hemsky has 8 points in 12 games with 5 goals. He is now healthy and is skating very well out there now. As long as Hemsky proves that he is healthy he has very good trade value. He has proven that already this year.

Gagner is 9th in scoring out of all centremen.

^typical HF board talk though...if we had our way, every team would hold on to their players forever...never making trades and never trying to improve through trades...after all, all of us think our players are all great and everyone else's players are garbage.

MacDonald is DEFINITELY better than Stralman, better than Martinez, Voynov is better than him. As usual rangers fans don't know what they're talking about. Most rangers fans think Streit is the best defenseman on the Isles, newsflash he's probably the 3rd or 4th best defenseman on the team.

On the Isles he along with Hamonic are counted on as the first pairing going against other teams top lines....He plays 27 min a game too boot....You are crazy my friend. Not too mention he makes only 550k for this year and next year...
If you watched the games this year, MacDonald has been awful. It's not even debatable. He's marginally talented. We have plenty of D to replace him. Donovan is already a better player. You see a lot more if you go to all the games than you do on TV or reading about a player on the internet

Stop.

Not sure what's funnier, this or Anton Stralman and Matt Gilroy being better than him.

Yeah, we are the ones drinking the kool aid.

The Oilers and Islanders should combine into on mega team and play half the home games in Edmonton and half in long island

Moulson Tavares Yakupov
Hall RNH Eberle

Hamonic J.Schultz
Smid Amac
Petry Visnoksy

Dubnyk
Nabokov

He's honestly not that good. There's a reason why our team is in last place every year. You guys make players like Andrew MacDonald, Frans Nielsen and Matt Martin sound like Denis Potvin, John Tonellii and Clark Gillies and I love it. But it's not even close, and in the right deal, anyone who's name isn't Tavares should be available to make this team better. Islanders and Oiler fans kill me. We have been the two worst franchises in the league for half a decade and both teams fans think that all their players are so untouchable and amazing. One team has a 30 goal scorer who can barely skate and plays no defense, and a second line center does absolutely nothing 5-on-5. The other team has these four incredible offensive superstars yet last years number one pick has no goals this year, this years number one pick plays on their third line and the guy picked in 2010 might be the most overrated young player in the sport.

Yes, because saying someone is a 2nd pairing defensemen is clearly the same as comparing them to Potvin.

He wouldn't be a second pairing defenseman on 90% of the teams in the league

How on earth is Hall a bust?
The kid is 21 and has already had a 27 goal season and has 9 pts in 11 games this season...

Watch more hockey.

And no, Yakupov played one the first line today, not the 3rd line at all.

He took a few shifts back with his normal line of Hemsky and Gagner, but that's about it. He's spent literally no time on the 3rd line all year.

Hall is not a bust. RNH and Tavares are both good.

It seems strange stating the obvious but seems needed.

Hall is rounding out his game nicely, once they are better in their own end, more opertunities will come. It's fun to watch them come together, still going to take some time. Too many sleepers...
