Booth is not going to fit with the twins. And if booth/kesler play together again this year and the chemistry is still not there, where does he play?

The canucks are contending for the freaking Stanley cup, and secondary scoring has been a huge issue for the last couple of years, its only logical canucks fans focus on this.

I don't hate the booth, just want to see the canucks have good secondary scoring.
And win that damn silver thing.
Schroeder centering Kesler and Booth as AMEX mk II could work and would be a lot of fun to watch. A little bit of everything on that line. It's way too early to give up on Booth. I will withhold judgment on him until late next season when he's had a camp and hopefully a string of good health.

Schredda is also quite comfortable on the wing.

Kassian would look good there as well.

Both are capable of playmaking, Kassian just has a little more finish to shots is all.

Are you sure? I swear I've seen Chicago games where he played wing last year quite well.

I could be wrong though, but I thought it was stated. *shrug*

Yeah, I have heard he looked lost there in the AHL.
That was why they moved him back to center, which gets me worried about his role with the team going forward.
For now, he is playing very well, and that is all you can hope for.

I may not be the biggest Booth fan of late but replace him with Brouwer? All the guy does is hit. I want little to do with Brouwer's awful contract, especially at the cost of Lu.

summer of 2010 - trade Bieska he's terrible
summer of 2011/2012 - Schoeder is not putting up good enough numbers in the AHL to ever play in the NHL. Mason Raymond is terrible, he should be waived. People keep pencilling Kassian into the top line, we are not even sure he's good enough to play in the NHL this year.

and I am sure I am missing a ton of others.

Every year someone has injuries or an off year and we should dump them for nothing.

and now Booth. Sigh ...

While I agree that the booth hate is getting into areas it shouldn't, the concern for his game is totally warranted. I'm hoping it was just an injury thing, but his defensive awareness wasn't the issue (even though it was very bad, I can live with it), it's that down the stretch he was playing like the injured back version of Raymond with size. Yes, he was injured, but he didn't seem to have issues physically, he just looked really dumb hockey-wise, and not being 100% really exposed his limitations and negative qualities to an alarming degree. He has an excuse. But it was still concerning. It wasn't just that he didn't produce or showed expected weaknesses that can be brushed off so easily.

I'm just hoping that his hockey sense/vision is adequate enough that the play doesn't constantly die on his stick, which I think is a valid concern and is not too much to expect.

He basically looked like Weise does now down the stretch last year, without the defensive awareness. Skating miles and physically showing his strength but alot of desperation amounting to nothing, skating himself into corners, preventing his linemates from doing what they do and throwing away the puck on really poor plays in the offensive zone. He became a good fourth liner that couldn't play with offensive-minded players.

That said, I'm still excited to see what he can do this year and think replacing him with Brouwer is stupid.

I swear, some people are obsessed with those ex-blackhawks cup winning players.

I wouldn't mind him if it was not for the contract. He is essentially a Higgins who hits but lacks a two way game. Higgins just costs us half.

As long as both are playing well, I'd go 2 Schneider starts, 1 Luongo start.

I am too. I think Schneider should be given the same opportunity that Lou was given to string 3 wins together.

I hope they just take turns. Depending on schedule, no more than 3 and no less than 2 in a row. Keep them both fresh, but also give them a few consecutive to let them find (and keep) their groove.

I think they want to give Schneider the next couple starts against Dallas and St Louis, but don't want Luongo sitting for two weeks without playing. As usual though it's interesting to watch this play out!

I know same.

Booth is better than Brouwer, Brouwer would be a 3rd liner on our team and we have a plethora of 3rd line wingers. Certainly not a need and not interested in taking on the contract.

James Reimer just left the ice injured in the Leafs game. Did not look good at all. Looked like his knee it groin. Should he be out a long time, you have to think they're interested in Luongo more then ever.

After watching Reimer go down, I am doubly grateful Canucks have 2 great goalies. There are maybe 30 starting goalies in the NHL, 4 of them are already injured and it's only 11 games into the season (Hiller, Kipper, Halak, Reimer). It's going to be a injury graveyard this yr, and goalies aren't an exception.
