I thought people were projecting Strome to end up turning into a winger when he goes to the NHL. Either way, pass from Edm. I think Edm would have a lot more interest in guys like Hamonic and Reinhart.
I would rather do RNH+ for Tavares. Eberle and Tavares on the same team would be unreal.
You and I both know that Tavares and RNH are going nowhere. The only way you'll see Tavares and Eberle on the same line would be in an Isles jersey. Actually, you'll see them in International Tourneys and they've been pretty damn good together in the WJC's and WC's.

I know lol. Its just too bad. It is rare to see players gel that quickly together and get the results that they did.
I am looking forward to the Olympics because I know Stevie Y will put them together.
Okposo would interest me in EDM but I am not sending one of the FAAB 5. I know people are going to say Hemsky sucks but he is having a bounce back year and is healthy. Hemsky would look good with Moulson and Tavres. Okposo would add some size and then that would allow EDM to trade Gagner for a dman to improve the team.
Only player that gets Eberle to the Islanders is John Tavares. And that's not happening, so let's all move along, nothing to see here.

While I agree none are in the ballpark with Tavares at this point I don't see Oilers brass jumping at many of those names as a centerpiece for one of the big four. Maybe Hamonic + Strome/Reinhart but Okposo/Bailey/Nelson aren't getting elite young players.

I'd have to think long and hard about Hamonic+Reinhart for Eberle, but I'm still not too sure if I'd do that. And I don't think that the Isles would either.

And none of those pieces are in the ballpark of Edmonton's big 4. It would require a package around Hamonic, not one for one, to even get the Oilers to consider it. Much as it would take a package centered around RNH to get NYI ear.
Neither is going to happen.

The majority still do say that. FYI Hall and Schultz split the other A. It's widely rumored the only reason Hall doesn't have the C is Horcoff still on the books. The Oilers tend to trade their former captains and nobody will take Horcoff

I still think when they buy Horcoff out this summer, Hall becomes the captain, no dig on Eberle but Hall is a born leader.
This is a lateral move for EDM, Strome's potential is what Eberle is now and it isn't likely that he will reach that. If EDM is trading Eberle to the Isles they are going to want a deal where Hamonic is included, not a prospect and a struggling forward.

To put it simply, the Oilers aren't trading down in any deal for the big four, especially Eberle, who is likely the most valued of the big four. So while Tavares is certainly better right now, and probably in the future, no other pieces the Isles have would entice the Oil to move those guys.
