Fights, Hits, Goals is my definition of a powerforward. I realize everyone is going to have their own definition which is fine but if you go by how I define it then it would be hard to consider anyone else better. All those players are big bodied, north south, hard nosed players but none have the intimidation factor to really be considered a powerforward in my book (maybe Backes). Lucic is a throwback. There really isn't anyone else in the league that has his skillset.

Would Bruins fans take Lucic over Seguin too?

If they already had a player similar to Seguin they would take Lucic, if they already had a player like Lucic they would take Seguin. Boston is built as a team, not a bunch of players thrown together without any regard for how well they fit with what is already there.

That is the main reason they wouldn't consider the orginal proposal here. It just does not address any needs and it takes away integral parts of this years team.

Hall would not provide what Lucic provides and Whitney would take Hamilton's place in the lineup because nobody else in that deal is ready for the NHL. Whitney is a downgrade from Hamilton especially his mobility and speed. This deal would weaken their defense and who knows if it would help their offense or not, but Hall would not make opposing players move out of the way in the corners the way they do with Lucic. I cannot count the number of times that a goal has been scored by the Bruins because another player is afraid to get hit by Lucic and coughs up the puck and Lucic doesn't even get an assist on the play.

In a vacumn the value might be good, but that isn't how it works in real life.

I could see the Bruins trading something for Whitney at the deadline to use as the 7th or 8th d-man, but it wouldn't be much, probably a mediocre prospect or later round pick.
He sounds like a good guy in every interview, he actually has practiced with the team quite a bit during the lockout so many of them are familiar with each other, but he wouldn't be a regular at this point.

No, we already have Lucic, there isnt a reason to even consider it. And IF Edmonton had Clowe, they wouldn't be interested in trading Hall for Lucic. Needs needs needs.

The other poster said "pure" powerforwards.

That's why his value is so high to the Bruins and is likely overrated by us Bruins fans but it's for a reason. Without him we'd have the same problem the Oilers have now. A lot of smaller skilled forwards and no one to protect them on the top lines. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have Hall but not at the expense of Lucic and not even straight up.
I'd honestly rather trade Ebs than Hall, he is that valuable to our team.
Ebs is my favourite player on the team as well and would obviously hate to see either of them go.

These are definetley the pieces the oilers lineup is lacking. Don't see the Bruins making this trade though.
