i really think the barnaby signing will work out well for dallas.
i've followed him since his days in pittsburgh, and he's really changed his game around.
ask a ranger fan. in new york, barnaby led the team in +/- one year (i believe) and was a regular on a line with lindros. he's really learned defensive responsibility and cut down on a lot of foolish minor penalties that he use to take early in his career in buff, pitt and tb.
he'll still fight without much prompting, but it's usually in response to helping a teammate.
in recent years barnaby's transformed into a solid positional lower-line winger: high energy, willing to fight, won't hurt you defensively...and he's usually a good bet to score 15-20 goals if on a 3rd line. plus the veteran experience, he's a vocal, warm guy.
at $625k i think it's a great signing for dallas and i hope he gets a chance to fit in and help ya'll out.
