LOL
You think Bakes deserved a charge? Boy, you must have gotten into a couple big arguments on the main board with that loonytune position
It was a late hit... Not really worth arguing about it happened, if they just ring him up with two nobody talks about it. On the main board because it was not a five minute major and once it is blown to that degree there is already too much blood in the water to feel the need to get in a giant argument. It was the wrong call, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a penalty, Backes was late, the puck was gone long enough, it was a two minute minor for me.
Souray and Redden are the signs of two very good pros. Were sent to the AHL, reported and played despite getting up in age and having lots of money in the bank, waited for things to play themselves out and now they're back in the show. I guess the jury is still out on Redden but I think he'll manage to get a new contract by season's end too just like Souray did after his one-year deal.
Tim Thomas traded for a conditional pick (Condition being if he even plays a game...) To be honest, if for whatever reason Howard decides to bolt... I honestly wouldn't mind bringing in Thomas. Would be legit to watch.
Actually, further reading suggests that this was merely a move done by the Isles to reach the cap floor (how they weren't already there at this point in the season is anyone's guess, but whatever).

He may be getting older and be a little to outspoken for some, but I'll always love TT for that hit. Outstanding!
Minnesota may have gotten Suter now but the rest of their D line is weak weak weak. Prosser, Falk and Stoner all look like journeymen players to me. Hard to look good with three of them in the lineup. And the funny part is that they're up against the cap with those guys.

Minnesota is actually not in any danger of cap hell. That's mainly due to the fact they have so many young and unimpressive dmen. They could still make some moves this offseason.

Minnesota currently has the second highest payroll in the nhl(!!!) but cullen/bouchard/backstrom are all ufa at the end of the year so it seems they will be able to avoid problems for now.
However, theyre still extremely top heavy and will have to open the checkbook soon for granlund, brodin, and coyle
Currently watching the Flames-Canucks, and frankly Calgary blows, so it's just puzzling that they put 4 on Detroit. Even without Kipper, who hadn't been playing all that great pre-injury, I thought the Flames had more talent on the ice than this.

It's the fundamental 1st law of Detroit Sports: crappy teams look unstoppable against Detroit Teams. It's been scientifically tested and proven time and time again.
Oh, it's so entertaining every time when the Blue Jackets lose because of James Wisniewski's horrible play. Wisniewski had two giveaways that lead to both Oilers goals and that cost the whole game.
Oilers got only 13 shots on goal against the Jackets, they looked like more exhausted than the Wings were after the saturdays game, but thanks to Wisniewski, they got the win.

Wisniewski is so greedy, he deserves all the **** he gets
Can't help but wonder if this is the year the Leafs finally make the playoffs. They're not great by any means, but they look decent enough so far. Lot of last years playoff teams are pretty weak too - Washington, Philly, Florida, etc.
