Made one of my better dinners of late, that was delicious and healthy. Roasted some garlic and tomatoes in the oven, tomatoes just on a pan and the garlic in some oil. Pulled those aside, let them cool down for a bit. Then I tossed them in a blender, with some of the oil from the garlic pan, along with some basil, fresh lemon juice, and parmesan. Made a pesto out of that. Then took some of the oil from the garlic, and cooked some shrimp in that. Dipped a chunk of bread from a baguette in the garlic oil again, and grilled that a second. Tossed the shrimp and pesto with some whole wheat pasta. Was really really good.

I took a chicken breast and put it on a pan. Then I ate it.
You probably should have cooked it first.

Pretty simple. Roasted about 10-15 cloves of garlic in maybe a 1/4 cup of olive oil, at 400 for 45-60 minutes. Roasted the tomatoes in a separate pan, with nothing in it, for 30-40 minutes. After that just tossed it in a blender with the juice of half a lemon, maybe 1/2 cup of parmesan grated in it. As for the amount of basil, take your typical bunch of parsley or cilantro at a grocery store, and use about half of that amount for the basil. Didn't actually measure anything out last night... just kind of went with what felt right at the time.
There’s nothing wrong with a Ben’s half-smoke, mind you, and although it’s a predictable choice, it’s what most out-of-towners aim to cross off their food bucket lists when they visit Washington. But can we really call it a sandwich? It’s a glorified hot dog, and hot dogs are not sandwiches. (Are all baseball players pitchers? Pitchers have special characteristics that make them pitchers. Such is the hot dog.) And even if you accept that the meat + bread + condiment formulation automatically = sandwich, D.C. sandwich-makers have done better.
Here are 15 D.C. area sandwiches we like even more than a Ben’s Chili Bowl half-smoke:
Just ate some home made potstickers. Man, they taste SOOO much better than the crap you buy frozen. The meat is so damned juicy; only downside is that every bite makes the juice go out the other side of the dumpling... but that means they're made right.
While McDonald's Germany serves something similar now and again, McDonald's China has one upped them with a new, limited-time Sausage Double Beef Burger, which is as meaty as it sounds.
The burger is pretty much meat and bun. Specifically, it's two sausages, two beef patties, and mustard on what looks to be a pretzel hamburger bun. It's offered for 17.50 yuan or about $2.82 US.
The burger is similar to one McDonald's has occasionally offered in Germany: the Nuremburger, which features three traditional Nuremberg sausages, crispy fried onions, and mustard.
Made an aweome beef roast in the slow cooker on saturday, had the potatoes, carrots, celery and onions in the with it. Little bit of pepper, salt, and other spices on top with about a cup and a half of water in the bottom. Kept basting in every hour or so and damn was it good.
Also the bonus is Roast Beef sandwhiches!!! whole wheat bun, margarine, mayo, lettuce, roast beef, dijon mustard and a bit of bbq sauce..... good in the gut

That sounds fantastic.
Tomatoes + garlic = automatically delicious. If you start with that, it's pretty much impossible to make anything that isn't awesome from there.

Haven't had that since I posted about it, and it sounds like a great idea for dinner tonight. Especially since we have some fresh "spicy hot oregano" in the garden that is ready to be used. Still not exactly sure what that is, but might find out tonight, I suppose.
Currently watching "All You Can Eat Paradise" on Travel Channel HD, and they are showing a massive burger at Clearfield, PA's "Denny's Pub"
That thing is huge
Damn
Would eat.
I've been there a few times. Big burger is stupid, and the normal sized ones are just okay. Just like the Big Texan in Amarillo. Big steak? Yeah. Good steak? Not so much.
