Yepp. Looking like a great trade by Burkie.

Holzer has been great. Loving his calm, physical presence on the back end. He's going to be very good for us!

I expect more from him. I hope he can find his place soon.

I still can not believe the stupidity of this thread. It was made after 2 games... 2 GAMES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!?!

I shake my head nonstop when I think of the utter stupidity, impatience, rediculousness of some fans.

The team has had a lot to get angry about over the years. Calling a player out after basically his first 2 games of his career (I know he played 1 last year) is certainly not one of them.

Holzer's been impressive thus far. 2 goals even.

He's getting more comfortable and his physical game is emerging. Its an outside chance but he could end up a monster stay at home guy for the Leafs. For now though, he's an excellent bottom pairing D with the potential for more. Hopefully he can emerge to the point where we won't miss Schenn quite as much.

If/when Gardiner comes back (please soon - we need him) I am all for this. I like Liles but I think he's lost a step and is replaceable with Gards/Rielly when the former returns to form and the latter emerges. Liles is a good leader but I think we have enough veteran presence with Phaneuf, Kostka and Fraser back there (Kostka and Fraser are not NHL vets but they have AHL vet experience and it shows).

If Liles is moved, I would like to see:

Phaneuf-Gunnarsson
Gardiner-Kostka
Holzer-Franson
Fraser
Komisarek (waivers maybe?)

We do need a smart right side D to play top pairing I think. Gunnar can fit the bill but another, better right handed version of him would be wonderful.

Still think we need to see a Gunnarsson-Holzer pairing at some point (Gunn and Holzster).
